{3.2.0} Spectral Gods: [Life Based Spectre/Golem Hybrid Summoner | Clear Speed | End Game Bossing]
I might be late to the party, but smoke mine apparently teleports your whole army as well as you. immensely useful for 'stuck' minions, and blinding cloud is never a bad thing.

SO i just started and have been reading a lot of summoner guides, but im really condfused on a lot of things. First you say not to spec in to EB and do also why does nobody spec into minion damage if there are main source of dmg. Also is that much armor really needed or can it be replaced with high ES. Also why do you skip some increased zombie gems that would only take a couple of points to reach. I guess it would just be nice to see a more current guide that is up to the current patches and practices instead of having to read two hundred pages of comments to get caught up. also pls explain this whole trap chinnanigans.

" There is a calculation by Matt somewhere in the thread at which point 1 passive (i.e. 8% life) becomes better than 40 flat life. Can't remmeber the numbers myself though. I was lucky I leveled summoner as one of my first characters and didn't know anything and just took passive points - turns out it was a good idea. " The build I think isn't really updated on the latest summoner patch, and Matt hasn't been here for some time. The things is though, this build centers on character survavalability and goes from there. And minion life was always more important than minion damage, plus BMs kill stuff even without the damage passives pretty fast. " Just did the maths myself, and - correct me if Im wrong, BUT: at lvl 70 (pretty much point where build should be more or less finished for me) we have 182% increased life. that means 40HP from oak give us 113HP. 8% node would require 1412 base HP to give us 113HP as 8%. Witch at lvl 70 without any HP nodes nor Oak's reward has 611HP. Lets add 560HP from the equipment (70HP on 8 pieces, assuming Wind...something, those unique boots) = thats 1171 total. 8% of that gives us 93HP, compared to 113HP from 40HP flat from Oak Guess with more %+HP or with more +HP on gear 1 8% node would outweight 40HP flat bonus, but if you ask me? Witch at low levels desperately needs HP, and fighting Oak even on normal can be scary :P |

" the funny thing is my summoner kicks the crap out of Oak every time. I had minion instability and dual curses almost as soon as i could get them. temp chains, vulnerability spam skellies, he goes down, and quite easily. as for dominus ? never even bothered. went and got a friend and hid in the corner. |

" life is _very_ important to BM as their damage is based from life and it greatly enhances their survival. the biggest problem with BM is that sometimes they won't "start". this is _extremely_ problematic against merciless dominus. if they don't get started the whole venture goes sideways in a hurry, and they won't get started until the hostilities occur. as for the trap chennanigans, it's not a "trick" at all. traps add a damage bonus to the skill linked to them. set a trap linked to zombies. when the trap is triggered out comes a zombie doing X % more damage. since traps require triggering, the preferred method is to use a mine. IMO, neither is very useful compared to linking in minion damage, melee phy damage, etc... raise your zombies in the usual fashion, say RZ minion life, minion damage, melee phy damage, multistrike using chober and sidhebreath and they'll be tough enough, especially with the regen and leech nodes now available. |
