Empty treasure chests
It makes sense that not every crate or rock is filled with loot, but empty treasure chests are no fun.

It does make sense, because they are empty until you put something in them, maybe some other survivor looted it... and was in a big hurry to get the hell out of there, just to end up as a "Corpse" for your looting pleasure... it does make sense!
I love virtual brutality so save it for the Mobs...

Maybe this make sense. But is no fun.
This is another "Meh" thing in this game... clickin on five corpses and 4 chests in two screen radius and you get 3 whites...or nothing. So why they are there? (gameplay wise). To annoy player? In other games they drop gold at least that you can pick up - you feel rewarded in some way. PoE does very crappy job with rewarding player right now. This is one of little things that make this happen. Last edited by Kabraxis#1526 on Aug 20, 2011, 5:13:14 PM

You have to keep in mind the story and lore of the area. It doesn't make sense to have lots of items dropping all of the time.
Also, in order to really feel rewarded, you have to have things that you do that you don't get rewarded for, like clicking on a chest or corpse. In since 0.8.0

"It doesn't make sense to have lots of items dropping all of the time.
" It doesnt make sense what? Gear dropping? Is Hack And Slash game. maybe GGG should go with survival horror or something? If they dont want chests that drops something so i say - remove them and make them only visual. Because there is shitloads of them now, they are annoying and with the drop rates form them wasting time on clicking is basically wothless. Spice them up or remove. In Diablo series there is harsh world too, etc... and chests drops fine. Explaining something like this in HnS game basing on story and Lore is the most stupid thing i ever read lol. You know where statisticallly Hns player has the lore? I think you do. :) Maybe is more important in games with established lore and franchise (like Diablo series) but in game like PoE? No no no. I say maybe change Lore a little because it doesnt stand well with design principles of the genre. Last edited by Kabraxis#1526 on Aug 20, 2011, 6:49:10 PM

Theres no gold so theres no easy item to pop out of chests, its no big deal imo.
When something does pop out of a chest, it makes it worth it. EDIT: Maybe we could get a small amount of XP for opening a chest? Like half of what you'd get from a mob Last edited by Archfiend#7746 on Aug 20, 2011, 7:44:57 PM

It's certainly not a big deal but I'm not a fan of empty chests either.

Doom 1:
You complete the map and it shows your number of kills treasure objects opened while loading the next map. Then before you go to the next map the area transition happens, all while loading the next map! Almost seamless loading, based on your % you are scored (both in combat and exploration) and you get 0-200 points of xp/ area (100 for combat, number of monsters killed, and 100 for exploration which would be interactive devices). This is only applied for the first time you visit a map (so every 15 minutes of being empty it will reset so you can keep building). I love virtual brutality so save it for the Mobs...
