Question about Party Experience

"Being in an area with a party member grants you a 30% experience bonus. Monsters give +50% base XP for every party member after the first. Experience is only shared with other players who are near you (roughly two screens)." My Question is regarding the +50% base XP for every party member If I join a party of 6 and run a map Solo (with the rest of the group still in town/other maps), does it still calculate the xp bonus to the base? Or do the members have to all be in the same map (and close by the share the xp).' |

People have to be in the same area or the bonus doesn't apply.

" That info from the wiki is at least 6 months old, because party EXP mechanics were changed in november of last year. Now, monsters never give bonus EXP in a party, HOWEVER the EXP is also not divided up anymore between party members. Previously, monsters gave extra EXP, but all party members had to share it and divide it up amongst each other. Now, all monsters give normal EXP in parties, but every party member gets the full amount, no sharing/dividing. In order to get the EXP that your party members get, you have to be within about 2 screens of the kill. This is only for party members in the same instance. So to answer your question, if you are in a party and you run a map solo, there is no difference in EXP. If your party members join you and stay within 2 screens, there is still no difference in EXP gained, but you get the full amount of what others kill. |
