+All elemental resist nodes

How valuable do you think they are in terms of building a character? Is it good to have many of them or just use gear to get high res?

if you pass by one, take it, but don't go out of your way to get them

The 15% ones are good. The others are really bad and should only be taken out of sheer desperation as placeholders.

Depends on what build are you using.

If you run purity - don't bother much

so there is nothing good that can take the slot of resists in gear that would make them valuable at all?

I think the +6% all and 15%&15% clusters are the best addition to the skill tree, mostly because of the reasons these clusters were added :)

Good ones include resists, aspd/cspd, IIR/IIQ, Crits, ele dmg.

Not all gear can get all those things though. (eg: Shoes and chest).

I guess those nodes would be great if you needed to rely heavily on uniques for some crazy build.

People often underestimate the power of resist nodes on the tree and what they actually do.

2. Use a kite shield base

3. Use purity

1 + 2 + 3 = 81% + 24% + 27% = 132% resists before you even have a single gear mod.

The implications of this are you can build your entire gear set completely independently of any resist requirements. Think characters stacking stupid amounts of magic find or heavily built upon uniques

I guess those nodes would be great if you needed to rely heavily on uniques for some crazy build.

Or if you get item quantity bonuses and chaos resist on several gear pieces, like you should.

To elaborate: item quantiy bonus and chaos resist bonus are in most cases stronger than equivalent elemental resist bonuses in the same equipment slots.


Helmet, Gloves and Shoes can all have quantity + chaos bonuses => this leaves you with only 1 slot on those equips for regular elemental resist.
