Unwavering Stance -> Iron Reflexes?
Unless i'm missing something, it feels like taking Unwavering Stance then means that there is no downside to taking Iron Reflexes - which means you should take iron reflexes, which then makes evasion armor more beneficial than actual armor armor.
I like being tanky and wearing steel, it feels kind of wrong that unwavering stance pretty much requires me to continue on to iron reflexes and then switch out all of my gear for evasion stuff. Do the devs even want keystones to make you feel obligated to get other keystones? This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

The devs know that certain keystones and passives work very well with each other. This is called Synergy.

Yes iron reflexes works well with unwavering stance, but unwavering stance is not neccesary if you have high damage reduction and high hp.

" Unwavering Stance states that you "Cannot Evade enemy attacks," meaning Chance to Evade = 0, but it doesn't actually remove your Evasion Rating, does it? That would be the difference there. Does Evasion Rating figure separately into the calculation to avoid critical hits, or does that run directly off of Chance to Evade? It's the only way I could see how it would matter. Iron Reflexes applies evasion rating to armor which means your effective Chance to Evade will be 5% (this is the lower bound unless you have Unwavering Stance). This doesn't necessarily mean it's better to use EVA gear than armor gear, there are several situations where you may stick to armor (more +armor% passives, easier to get red sockets, easier to meet reqs, etc.) One of the nice benefits of EVA armor is a lower movement speed penalty, but if you get the notable passive Leather And Steel you don't need to worry about MS penalty.
Unwavering Stance means your effective Chance to Evade will be 0%. You're right in saying that this makes IR much more attractive since any evasion rating you character has is now wasted. In fact, the only reason I can think of where you might have US without IR is if you don't want to spend the 10 skill points to get over there (although there's some other nice stuff on the way). You're much more likely to see a build running IR without US than you are to see a build with US and no IR. |

" Emphasis mine. Iron Reflexes applies %Armor bonuses to Evasion Rating (that is, after all, how Conversion works). So uh, yeah. |

" Can you clarify, Vipermagi? If I have 100 base armor, 100 base eva, +50% armor, +50% eva, and IR, what will the resulting armor bonus be? I had thought it would be 150 armor + 150 eva = 300 armor, but you seem to imply that +eva% passives won't work. |

" It will be 150 Armour + 200 Evasion = 350 armour. The evasion also gets bonuses from your '+ armour %' nodes since it's armour too now. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Before Iron Reflexes:
(base + gear + Grace) * (Increased Evasion + Increased Armor-and-Evasion) = Evasion Rating After Iron Reflexes: (base + gear + Grace) * (Increased Evasion + Increased Armor-and-Evasion + Increased Armor) * Determination = Armor Rating Armor stays the same regardless: (gear + buffs) * (Increased Armor + Increased Armor-and-Evasion) * Determination = Armor Rating |
