There's nothing even close to PoE1, the gem of all
Any other game that is considered looter hack'n'slash arpg is not even coming close to PathOfExile
I've been with the game for 10 years, watching it change, grow, evolve. This is the only game that gave me a sense of: 1) Hype 2) Joy 3) Adventurous feel 4) Happiness 5) A reason to keep going Nothing else is coming close to this game I've never skipped a new league except for ONCE Path of Exile 2 is a newborn baby, it'll shine but needs time LastEpoch is like a chinese mobile game that throws loot at you, with you not even deserving it. No sense of achievement, no hardship earning loot, no pride in killing bosses. I've played it to around 80 SSFHC, i assume the game doesn't get better after that I can't even explain you guys how am I waiting for the new 3.26 league of PoE1 This might be a mental issue thing, but it almost feels like..there's nothing to do except for waiting for PathOfExile1, there's just nothing else that comes close to a level of this game. Nothing. I gladly will hear you out if you can give me an alternative Last edited by shadowthedead#5607 on Apr 21, 2025, 7:17:41 AM Last bumped on Apr 27, 2025, 5:29:21 AM

Pretty much!
If you're going to name one ARPG that really stands out from the crowd in its unique, own way, the answer is always going to be PoE1. It's not perfect, and you might not like it, but no one can claim it doesn't separate itself from other ARPGs. Most of the other ARPGs are very similar in one or another way. PoE2 looks better, with better graphics and animations. It also sounds better... Way better. PoE2 is going to be a very great game for all I know, but I fail to see where it really stands out from the crowd. And to be fair; PoE2's largest issues right now, are: 1) Too few skill options for each class 2) Too few build options for each class 3) Balance of everything (damage, loot, progression etc) 1 and 2 are just natural in an EA environment, while 3 can easily be tuned as time goes on and more things get added. But... It's not there yet, it's not finished, it's not "good enough" yet (IMO). So please focus more on maintaining the unique experience we already have while we wait. " PoE2 will never be "great" it's too slow. It will always be too slow. Sorry but I grew up in the NES generation listening to thrash metal. I don't know why the kiddos like their games in slow motion these days, but it ain't for me. You don't need 900 frames of animation to pull a lever. Just click the thing and move on. The NES did it in 2-4 frames and was better for it. They'd have to speed up the game 50-100% before I'd find it anything but boring. I've sank like 10k hours into D2 over the years, something like 2k into Warframe, and another 2-3k into PoE. Logging into PoE2 just feels like a chore after a week of play. " It's gonna be faster, give some time to it I remember PoE1 7-10 years ago, as far as i can tell - it wasn't a zoom zoom like it's now |

" That's because it had technical limitations. The faster u'd go, the more desync u would experience. The implementation of Lockstep opened the flood gates. Now its held back artificially, which feels different. |

" I agree; it IS too slow. However, I'm not so sure that it will 'always' remain that way. I think when all the 'tourists' are gone, and the people that aren't here for seasonal play have stopped playing, GGG are left with the dedicated players that want to spend hundreds of hours on the game every league. And for those players to keep returning, I think they have to do something about the speed, especially the speed of progression. To me, PoE2 doesn't seem like it's built to be a seasonal game, or a live service game for that matter. But hey, time will tell... |

POE is an ARPG? I thought I was playing a currency simulator.

" I mean if you're playing SOFTcore trade and only care about currency then i guess lol |

Poe1 used to be the king of arpg but its heading towards the wrong direction in pretty uncontrollably high speed.
Loot nerfs, power taken of the skill tree ( rofl the skill tree is absolutely useless nowadays if you can't afford expensive clusters, tattoos and unique combo gems) Skill gems have been nerfed and only the uber expensive awakened give power nowadays. On top of that every upgrade seems much more expensive than ever after the loot nerfs. Talking about softcore trading; yeah well you can't really target farm most things in the game. Crafting? My God, after spending hours and hours in 3rd party programs and sites (you can't play the game without poe ninja, poe db, craft of exile, path of building, spread sheets) you might get to craft something usefull.on top of that they they deleted betrayal, because why have mid game useful gear, instead of having to farm for days to get something usefull? Yes poe1 is a currency simulator, you need to keep collecting tons of random peanuts the game throws at you, either to hoard them for future use, or to liquidate to get something better. The biggest percentage of the players are forced to spend time to do things the game has as prerequisites, rather than play the game. Sorry I don't think poe1 is king anymore |

I hope they get rid of betrayal altogether, that thing uses to freeze my screen for a few seconds everytime any of the betrayal characters showed up in mid mapping. I play HC top tier rare maps, 3-5 secs of frozen screen = RIP.
