There are many possibilities in POE2, but you're keeping the players behind bars.
I am not some hardcore players who love to spend hours studying a build in POB, I just love to try different skill combinations and see how it goes, I am attracted by the possibilities, but this game are forcing me to not trying and just follow a guide to play some meta build.
The difficulty on bosses before the patch nerf is fine. I love experiencing the boss's mechanic, instead of using rake repeatedly till it's dead, while the boss only did a few attacks. However, the rewards do not match the difficulty before 0.2b. I wish there would be some special unique item drops on Act Boss, and it can help the players zoom through the first half of the next act. The cost to reroll is just way too high, I played Bleeding Concoction build as a league starter and tried to find a way to make it work after realizing it got nerf. I tried pairing Bleeding Concontion with spear and felt like shit, then I pairing with grenade skills and have a fun time bombing through the campaign. Then it's just bricked in the end game, random white mob instantly killed my character while my damage was too low to clear some white mobs. I want to keep trying to find the right combination to make concoction build work, but every time I try it needs a ton of gold, it's just weird when a game has that much possibility and then punishes the players for trying on their own, all players must follow certain meta build to play the late game, isn't it against what the players coming for? I understand that I can do theory crafting in pob before trying any build, but isn't that funnier if you can try different skill sets while playing the game? Concoction skills could be the funniest skill in POE2, if it can add more interaction between skills, like adding a Detonator tag to certain Concoction skills like Fulminating Concoction and Explosive Concoction to detonate spears or crossbow skills, or Fulminating Concoction can have delayed explosion time, which can be detonated by Thunderous Leap to deal more damage, or players can use Rhoa Mount with crossbow, concoction, even spell. Also, I don't understand why nerfing Concoction skills cannot use Herald skills while unarmed. It's just sad to see there are so many limitations in this game.
