Kitoko’s Current gloves are causing some kind of self damage

Periodically (usually when I am using a skill, however it is unpredictable) there is a red effect around the edge of the screen that is similar to the one you get when you are hit by an enemy. This happens even in my hideout.

I am not using and life sacrifice skills (lifetap etc).

If I take these gloves off the problem goes away, if i put them back on then it happens again.

I am wondering if these gloves are electrocuting me instead of the enemies.
