Changes to the Atlas Passives are technically in a worse way
I'm enjoying the mechanic of the corruption / cleanse but it's extremely punishing to get your atlas passives. The towers/scarabs are amazing now and my atlas is absolutely flush with my 3-tablet coverage and overlaps.
I have found 4 Nexus so far. First one was rough and I failed it because I wasn't expecting the rush. But I've only found 3 others and they were successful. However only having 6 atlas points after 100 maps or so feels slower than previously so it's not really having the ideal solution to the Tier-Grind we used to do. It was more linear and available but now it's RNG based and less accessible as you are also spreading out your map to look for citadels. Another downside is once you do the Nexus and cleanse an area you are left with maps with reduced XP in favour of the loot. So it slows down your character progression also in terms of atlas passives. Speaking of citadels. There are none on my atlas which has been spread in 3 directions (N, E and West). I'm going to search south but there are none in the mist at all. I have no real desire to do citadels yet this early, as I'm still building up my char, but I'm settled into Tier 15s and +2 beyond that. So it seems like heading to the Arbiter fight for boss passives is a logical approach. Yet it's inaccessible. I don't want to recommend a fix for the atlas passive acquirement method in a serious tone as I don't work for you (I'd like to but I'm an Unreal Engine guy), but I would say having it give relevant points based on the tier of map you do the nexus in may help. So if the quest is tier 1 nexus and you do it with a tier 15, it shouldn't give you all the points upto then, but it could give you a bonus for doing it with increased tier or 6 mods instead of 4. Otherwise the current method is far too slow for a league scenario. Thanks and great work this week on the patches.
