Trading and bot Prob
|
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share some thoughts about something that’s really been bothering me in PoE 2: the way trading works, the fast decline in Divine Orb value, and how it affects the overall gameplay experience. First of all, I really liked the recent patch and I have a lot of trust that GGG will deliver a great game in the end. I’m honestly not too worried about that. But there’s one thing I am concerned about — and that’s bots, RMT (real money trading), and the impact this has on the economy. Right now, it simply doesn’t feel good to spend hours farming when you know that Divine Orbs are already selling for insanely low amounts of real money after such a short time. It kills the feeling of progress and value when others can skip dozens of hours of gameplay for just a few Euros. Some people might say: “Well, it doesn’t really affect you — you can still just play the game normally.” But that’s exactly the problem — it does affect players indirectly. Prices skyrocket so fast that if you miss out on just a few days early on, you’re basically completely left behind when it comes to trading. And that makes trading feel frustrating rather than rewarding, especially in the first few weeks. On top of that, my personal experience with the trade system has been pretty bad: You often have to message 20-30 people before someone even responds. And I’ve started to feel like many items are listed only to manipulate prices or to fake lower values in price-checking tools. I’ve even tested this myself with level 20 gems — and sadly, it actually works. This brings me to a suggestion or maybe just a thought: I know an auction house has always been a controversial topic in PoE 1, but maybe you should seriously consider adding certain quality-of-life trade features like Last Epoch did. Especially if you want to appeal to both PoE 1 veterans and new PoE 2 players, it might be a smart move. Personally, I haven’t played much PoE 1, so I can’t really judge how it worked out long-term. But I’m sure you’ve thought about this carefully. Still, I really hope that bots, RMT, and fair trading are things you have high on your radar for PoE 2 — because in my opinion, these systems will be absolutely crucial for a healthy game experience going forward. I always thought they get a deal with those trade sites for RMT. that's the only reason they wouldn't care about this problem.
Best thing they could do is implement a "Report trade" button, NOT TO BAN anyone, but to report that an item "seems like its being price fixed". Maybe if enough people report on a specific item it could literally "stop the market" for that item like how stocks work. or even put some flag on the item to alert other players there maybe an issue with the pricing. this way they wont manually block and anger any players, while letting us have a semi-working tool for self policing prices. |

Trading in this game is HORRIBLE.
30+ people I whispered and only got 1 response... and he wanted 15 ex for something he listed at 1 ex. The currency exchange is nice, but they need to do more. I would like to see something similar to the original trade system in EverQuest. Have a trade NPC that you can set up in your hideout that works like an NPC vendor. Instead of the whisper button on the trade site, have it be a "teleport to hideout" button that can only be used if you are in your hideout or a town. Then have it create a generic hideout, not the person's real hideout, with the NPC vendor. |

" The problem with any type of reporting like that is that it's too easy for a guild of people to file false reports on honest people in an effort to get them banned or just price fix by getting lower priced items flagged. Every game I played that had a player-reporting system like that was abused by players. |
