Top Hardcore Frost Sorceress (Chronomancer) Guide
![]() Top Hardcore Frost Chronomancer If you’re looking for a strong, reliable build to climb through the early and mid-game with ease—and with plenty of potential heading into endgame—this one’s for you. As of now (4/7/25), the #1 Hardcore SSF Sorceress (LightspeedCake#7715, mostly_chrono_two) in the current Dawn of the Hunt league used this same (or very similar) build and reached as high as #3 overall on the ladder. It’s proven, powerful, and well-suited for players looking to progress confidently in HC. Given how difficult this new patch and league has been on many players, I hope this helps restore some fun for anyone who may be struggling for direction. Directions: In early game, first use Frost Bomb where you think the enemies will walk a little into and then follow up with Frost Bolts. Once you get Cold Snap, use it on the Frost Bolts or as enemies freeze for easy kills. Once you get Frost Wall, just do the same things as necessary but primarily use Frost Bomb followed up by a few Frost Walls. Icicle Support Gem on Frost Wall IS A MUST, or the Shattered Crystal Node. "Frost Bomb must be able to shatter your ice walls at minimum". When you can complete your first ascendency (recommended around level 25), then please do as a Chronomancer. Put all into the cooldown aspects, it's incredible to have and will keep you able to repeat your Frost Bomb and Frost Walls (especially once you get Time Snap), as well as Convalescence more often for tough situations or to buffer through tough boss fights. You can also run Mana Remnants or Cast on Freeze if you have the spirit to, but I recommend putting the Mysticism support gem in when you can for the damage boost. I recommend doing the second ascendency for Trial of Sekhemas around level 60+, you can find a good level 48-52 one to attempt. If you don't want to bother with Chaos Inoculation, then don't... sometimes it may not be worth the risk. Hopefully what happened to me doesn't happen to you, and that GGG improves these detrimental "gotcha" mechanics (like unrealistic River Hag Drowning)!
