The new banner passives are dead on arrival. The new notables NEED a mechanical change hotfix!

The Rallying Icon & Bannerman notables are mechanically useless. The point of both passive clusters is to have more banner uptime in combat, but these notable passives just don't viably function. In order for these passives to activate you need to LEAVE your banner area BEFORE it expires. Running away from a fight in order to have more combat buff uptime is counterproductive and asinine.

The activation condition for these notable passives NEEDS to be changed so that their effects active whenever your banner effects end, regardless of how they expire.

Trying to make a Tactician banner build viable is a maddening experience.
Tactician players are crying.
I agree with both of these points and also I think the Bannerman notable should affect any allies in your banners. Currently everyone in my party would need to anoint this node to benefit from my banners if they run out of its range whereas I think that effect should be provided by the support character. And for non-support characters, ballistas and minions can't allocate notables so they just stop benefiting from the buff as soon as they walk out of the banner range or the banner ends even as the player continues to benefit for 4 more seconds.

And while we're at it, can we get some QOL for Tactician with Whoever Pays Best putting down all the banners? I would love a source of increased banner use speed or, better yet, a meta gem like the one they had showed for auras in early game teasers.

+1 to all of that.
I've never touched a banner skill and for good reason

lol

Heh, yeah. Probably best for your sanity.

Banners in their current state are as anti quality of life as possible.

They forgot to add a line to explain every banner when hovering over them.
It was supposed to also say: "-50% sanity irl - Only way to mitigate this threat is by smoking a few bongs"
Oh geez, it gets worse. Banners can't charge up if your character isn't the one getting the kills. Totem builds can't even charge them up, much less in co-op play.
I'm trying a triple banner + totem build and I agree that a source of banner placement speed would be extremely helpful for QOL. I'm assuming that everyone seriously considering a banner build is using The Fallen Formation, so changing a few of the "increased valor gained" nodes to "increased banner placement speed" would be nice.

Bannerman in its current form isn't bad when combined with The Fallen Formation, as you can use it with Defiance Banner to run faster, and The Fallen Formation + Whoever Pays Best allows you to refresh the same banner on top of itself for 100% uptime, but Rallying Icon seems...unusable? I do wonder whether GGG wants to design around 100% uptime or not, cuz currently if you do manage to get 100% uptime, then Inspiring Leader + Whoever Pays Best + The Fallen Formation + all the maximum valor nodes and banners have increased Aura Magnitudes nodes gives you +120% to elemental resists, which is...a lot of power if you can trust it enough to be able to skip having resists on your gear.
