To the Developers of Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt
To the Developers of Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt Your decision to “start a new economy for a more realistic feel” is an admission that the current in-game economy is broken — yet the root issues continue to be ignored. Right now, Path of Exile 2 actively punishes solo and duo players. The loot system, drop rates, and economic progression are clearly tuned for 6-man coordinated groups running optimized loot mods. This creates a completely unbalanced experience where the only viable path to decent gear is through group play — something that contradicts how the game is advertised, which features intense single-player action. In reality, solo and duo players are being funneled into an artificially inflated economy dominated by third-party sites and guilds who run loot-optimized parties. The result? A hostile trading environment where fair drops are rare, progression is gated, and Global chat is flooded with spam from external marketplaces. This isn’t just an oversight — it’s a system that pushes players toward real-money transactions outside the game just to keep up. That’s not engaging. That’s not rewarding. That’s not what Path of Exile was supposed to be. If you don’t fix the loot system to fairly support solo and duo players — and take control of the in-game economy — then no amount of flashy new content will matter. NO FIX, NO PLAY. Admission that current economy is broken?
Stopped reading after that… every rpg has leagues or ladder resets to reset the economy. So everyone starts back at nothing. After a while everyone finds the best loot and gear making the economy inflated with all the best loot. As someone who played solo you don’t need to RMT to get best gear or party with others… I left standard league after a while when my character was maxed and upgrades should provide a .5% upgrade at 500 div cost. Now I’m playing HCSSF where you can’t RMT or party and my character is quite strong. I just think your having skill issues Last edited by lolbam#6898 on Mar 30, 2025, 8:53:15 AM

I kind of agree on some points...
You see... I usually call a season when some shadow group just inflate the market. One day some gear is 2 div, other day it is being reselled by 20 div. It takes some time, sometime like 40 days, sometimes a little bit more... but it happens. (some gear means like a full set from some builds - examples are ashes of stars on league it was released went from 2 div to 50 div, on affliction league, the 7% attribute from skill tree went from 7 div to 50 div) There is some gap between "pro-player" and normal player that when the time comes, "pro-player" can dominate the economy market. The economy reset is awesome because they hold the inflation for a time. A shame that there is not yet implemented a way to hold the inflation as it is. Some ppl already made sugestion like you putting a CD trade on some gear (I think might help), like you can't resell it for X days. But in truth I don't see a solution at the end of the horizon =( |

" There is a solutiuon used in other ganes... an in game market place or action house (like in Dungeons and Dragons Online, before the Astral Shard p2w). But, GGG is lost in the Kodak Syndrome hell hole... 2025 yet they are using 1999 trade system. |

I have to agree, this ARPG has some of the worst drop rates I've ever seen. It's like they want people to MTX and bot. Loot shouldn't be raining down but i hardly see omens, audience with the king, hell even div drop rates are low.

Path of Exile 2: The Shadow Pay-to-Play Loot Box Simulator
Let’s stop pretending — this game operates like a shadow loot box economy. Randomized gear drops are so poorly tuned that third-party sellers have effectively become the main source of progression. You might as well just make it official: put "Legendary Loot Crate x10" bundles in the microtransaction store and sell gear directly. At least then the deception would be gone. Right now, third-party sites are running wild, openly advertising in the in-game global chat with zero consequences. These sellers dominate the market, and nothing is done. No bans. No moderation. Just silence — while the game’s own economy is gutted in favor of pay-to-win workarounds. The drop system forces players into frustration or outside spending. This isn’t just bad balancing. It’s a design that knowingly favors external monetization without any of the responsibility. Call it what it is: a Shadow Pay-to-Play game. And until it's addressed, it’s not worth playing. Sadly, I agree with every word the OP wrote.
I've abandoned PoE, still hoping it will become what it is meant to, and one of the main reasons is the broken endgame progression system, that punishes solo players like myself. I've played since release, but I still can't tackle pinnacle bosses and I can only dream of buying top tier equipment with my meager divines that rarely drop, while I watched streamers spending dozens just to test a new crazy build every week. The great animations and skill design kept me going for a while, but it's not enough. Last edited by Huginn#2767 on Mar 30, 2025, 7:42:37 PM
