What if we kept the runic enchant table in the base game with this idea

** IF THE TOWN DOESNT STAY IN THE GAME **

I feel like this enchant table is a cool way to get gear upgrades later on in the game with how impactful/unique they can be. Maybe the numbers and mods need adjustments but heres the idea anyway.


- You gatekeep it behind a special lab you can access with a "runic offering to the goddess". (the runes and the offering are droppable in expedition encounters, logbooks, expedition bossfights, uber lab chests?, whatever feels right)

Give the idea a real chance before saying another lab zzz.
* It could also be gatekept by unique logbooks or maps (one per pirate or whatever) if the idea or another lab is too much.*

- In that lab you get to fight each pirate boss subsequently instead of izaro.
(meaning we keep those cool guys in the game)

- At the end you can click the runic enchant table to unlock it so people that dont wanna farm this lab dont have to. But if you do want to farm it maybe you drop more runes there and the runic unique items from bosses etc. You then have the table available in hideout for subsequent characters during the league.

* Maybe you can even replace the chests at the end by random crafting options atlars to be unlocked like we do for the crafting bench during the campaign sortof. Just a thought not sure about this one because it means you need to farm it to make sure you get the ones you need. Feels forced this way so I like it less but its an option. *


I think it would be great for the game should it be balanced right so theres no gamebreaking stuff (or set a rigid meta).

I see those enchants more as an opportunity to enable additionnal builds and playstyles.
