Race Feedback

Very happy races are back. Quick feedback.

1. Need to find a way to reward more players for participating. Set lower level rewards. Maybe if you can cross certain thresholds you get smaller prizes. For example let's say today anyone who had beaten act 2 got a prize, or anyone act 1 a prize, etc. Having very low level rewards keeps people engaged.

2. The race format can' be too long. When you make an event 3-4 hours long, you automatically make it for a certain type of hardcore player. Which is fine occasionally, but the default race length needs to be shorter. 30 minutes to an hour for the longer races. Marathons have their place, but the default needs to be more on the sprint side.

3. Need an easier way to see your rank/progress compared to others. You can type "/ladder" but you get a list of the top 10. Perhaps show your own personal rank too on that screen.

agreed. rewarding 1 player per class only excludes everyone who don't speedrun the campaign for a living.

completing acts within a specific timeframe should yield some reward for the other literal 99.99% of players who don't play professionally for a living.

I like to participate in races when there are things I can conceivably get. The old PoE1 system of race seasons where your placement in the race would provide points towards graduated rewards was really good, and I've thought for a long time now should be brought back.

TL:DR when the only prize is first place, I know I won't win it because I just don't have the mentality to speedrun an ARPG; I am a loot goblin, I must with the shinies, therefore it feels pointless to participate.

It's almost as embarrassing as that guy who played through all the Souls games in succession completing no-hit runs. Like, dude... Technically impressive, sure, but it's just sad. This behavior shouldn't be celebrated.

What I don't like for races is that the only difference for classes is tree starting point. Would be much more interesting if classes could use only their own skills.

Also don't like cheese options like ESC > Restart or Create New Instance.

Same thoughts and the reason why I didn't even try to join the race. Pointless to try versus your pros top 1000 players =)

I give up such activities directly. It means nothing to ordinary players.

if GGG reward everyone participated, players across the world will join the server at same time, which will bring pressure to game servers, maybe cause a Server Shutdown.
