Obtaining T16 Waystones
Probably the dumbest idea implemented in this entire game, and there's some truly cognitively deficient mechanics that I'm not sure how they made it past committee into the game... I've been corrupting whole inventories of t15s just to end up with a bunch of 14s and 1 t16, which Ill use on an irritated+corrupted boss map and get *A 1/10 CHANCE* of an equal level t16 map. Plenty of rarity, I have all the atlas nodes for waystones, even the STUPID gambling one that more often than not downgrades. Not once in probably a dozen tried has it upgraded.
Why? What's the point, GGG? Artificially inflate game played time for investors? Last bumped on Mar 2, 2025, 5:49:13 PM

It's quite obvious they don't intend for us to run t16's with a high sustain rate.

Going for the waystone nodes is a "noob trap" at the moment, if you want a ton of maps you need to set up your atlas differently.
You can easily get 2-8 or even 10 T15's per map, so you can fill an entire stash pretty fast. If you then roll and corrupt them, you have T16's for a while to run on your super juiced maps. T16's are not meant to be sustained permanently, similar to how you sustain T17's in PoE1. They are just the "special tier". |

" How? Are you farming breaches? I'm rarely getting more than a couple T15's. I'm loading towers with "increased quantity of waystones". Am I missing something? |

" Nah, I don't farm "Breach", I am not a Breach enjoyer. Atm I can't look at my Atlas Tree to tell you which nodes are the best to use for waystone sustain, but I bet one of the content creators already made a video about it. But from what I remember, I went for pack size and numbers, the Keystone node for more mods on rare enemies, global quantity/rarity and some other stuff, but it has been a few weeks since I played the game so... yeah, forgot the details. It's really important to get your "Boss points", even with the small nerf - bosses still drop a ton of maps and full clearing helps a lot too. Even magic and normal packs drop maps. Ah, and I didn't play with "item rarity", so that is nothing you need to sustain T15/16's. |

Adding more packs, pack size and more rare enemies is just as or maybe more important than the +% to waystone drops for sustaining enough t15's for corrupting.
You can have +500% waystone drops, but with only the standard amount of enemies in a map it's not helping that much. Combining tablet/waystone mods you can get 3-5x the amount of enemies in 1 map. I have 0 invested in +% to waystones on atlas tree or with tablets and run mostly 6 prefix waystones. I get enough t15's dropping that i vendor 2/3rds of them for rolling less preferred mods. |

" This. Never ever looked at +#% waystone stuff on the Atlas and waystones themselves. Hit more mobs for more drops, you sustain maps so well, you can vendor a big chunk of them or sell them to players. |
