I find mapping too monotonous
To progress through the end game you gotta do hundred and hundreds and hundreds of maps and they too many of them are all basically the same idea.
I personally find it kinda monotonous. I can only ever do 2 or 3 maps at a time before I get bored and log off. I'm one of those weirdos who finds the campaign way more fun because it feels like I have objectives and am making progress and have more variety. I'd like to see more variety in the objectives and types of maps. Maybe give certain maps timed challenges or objectives or just something to break up the standard "kill all the rares" Last edited by Zaqwert#4447 on Mar 1, 2025, 4:42:57 AM Last bumped on Mar 1, 2025, 8:38:20 PM

Ideally somewhere down the road, maps are not the central conduit through which all end game activities take place. For example, I'd like to see the realm gate removed from the map and placed somewhere in world. Maps are fine on their own but as the primary element of end game it will probably get stale for a lot of people over time

Would be cool if there was territory objectives. If areas had territory with clear borders and controlling say 90% or 100% of maps in a given territory granted certain bonuses. Maybe the bonuses can be user selected from a list (HP, mana, dmg, currency, affixes that can be customized on gear).
Imo that would add a ton of replay value and give the perception that you're taking control of a world and not just random map nodes. |

I think another issue is that it takes too many maps to get into the more interesting content.
Running 10 t1 maps, 10 t2 maps, etc. you gotta do like a ton of maps before you start getting into the more interesting boss fights and atlas subtree stuff. I think it might be a good idea to cut down on the ramp up time of doing the "meh" maps over and over till it gets more meaty later. |

Doing x Tier maps counts towards progress for lower tiers. You can Start running T18 maps immediately and it will still progress the T1 objectives. Still an awful system though.

It’s a place holder. It’s not finalized so it’ll get better.

Oddly enough for me there was a point I was bored but now I am having a blast.
Having a build that works obviously improves experience greatly. Currently challenging myself to reach level 93, so managing risk/reward. I'd say the variety of maps is a big part. However right now about half the maps are kinda boring visually. Too many maps are dark, or very reptitive. Some maps look really nice though like Creek, Woodland, Steaming Springs etc. I think if GGG improved the layout and visuals of maps like Decay, Bloodwood, Hidden Grotto etc... my endgame experience would be 50% better. Sure I'd love some new mechanics but right now I feel like it could be so much better just improving the layouts and also making mas more visually appealing. For me it is a pleasure to run a map that looks nice like Creek or Wetlands. It's when I hit dreadful maps like Decay that the endgame becomes more of a chore. |

+1
I think the entire endgame concept is terrible and I dont enjoy any of it. Funny that the campaign has 500x more replayability than end game. |

I had hopes but when i found out what they did to Ultimatum and Expedition.. yeah, i don't know how they managed to botch the transition so bad, especially for Expedition, but there's no point to run either as one is still grossly overtuned and super rng heavy and the other is about as unrewarding as it gets.
Which doesn't exactly leave me with lot of content to chase so i simply don't and play other games for now.. Phrecia might have some issues but at least i can do the content i want, how i want including running the lab for my ascendancy points without my builds randomly getting bricked by random chance. |
