How I fixed my Crashing issue on AMD / Radeon PC
Let me start with I'm no techy by any means, but with a little help from ChatGPT, I was able to fix my crashing issues.
I had just purchased this PC 12/1/2024. I would randomly crash either visiting hideouts, running maps- especially with big packs, and tabbing out to google chrome. They would happen pretty frequently. Every 5 minutes or less, sometimes a little longer. The game would crash to deskptop without any error. Eventually it would crash my PC and restart. Every time that would happen it would generate an event log. That's where I began my mission, until I finally stopped crashing. Specs: CPU AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core Processor Operating system Windows 11 build 26100 GPU0 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics driver AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.2.1 XPG 32GB DDR5 RAM 6000 RGB Gaming Memory with Heat Spreader ASRock B650M-C Kingston SSD primary, Samsung 980 PRO SSD 2TB secondary Cougar 850 Gold PSU *Note* When I started this journey, I intially tried to tune down my graphics through adrenaline and POE2 settings, based on a bunch of videos I had watched, but ultimately ended up doing the complete opposite. 1. I did a complete windows install on the Kingston primary SSD and installed POE2 onto my secondary HD Samsung 980 PRO SSD. Updated all CPU / GPU / Chipset / Audio drivers. 2. Disabled : GPU 2: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (Integrated GPU from your Ryzen 9 9900X CPU) 3. Manually Disable Office Push Notification Service / Prevent Office from Reinstalling Automatically 4. Uninstall/Disable the Microsoft Store 5. Check for Corrupted System Files (Issue with KERNELBASE.dll) Used the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM to scan and repair corrupted system files 6. Run DirectX and System File Repairs (do this) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 7.Run DISM to Repair System Image 8. Enable / Increase Virtual Memory (Pagefile) on my Samsung 980 Pro SSD 9. Disable Hardware Acceleration in Chrome 10. Set Max FPS in Adrenaline to 100 11. Increased Power Option to High Performance (Initially tried balanced but this did not help me) 12. Increased my Settings from Low/Medium to High. This ultimately enabled my PC to run at full capacity and minized the GPU3D useage that was maxing out. 13. Verify Game Files in Steam (the most obvious) A lot of these steps might seem ridiculous to some of you techy folk. Again, as I said in the beginning, I'm basically computer illiterate, but my problem is fixed. If these steps can alleviate even a signle person's frustration then I've done my job. <3 Nuffie Edit: I did end up crashing one time in 30 hours which is pretty damn good. I ran the Minidump file through WinDbg and ended up Disabling Hyper-V. Last edited by kpkenney07#5290 on Feb 24, 2025, 10:00:31 AM Last bumped on Feb 24, 2025, 12:01:09 PM

the crashes are so RNG that they could happen 3xx in row or once in a month.
on vulkan i get no crashes, on directx the PC shuts down sometimes while playing POE2. |

" Indeed it seems like that :) Why would you do step 5,6,7 on a fresh windows install ^^ |

Everything I did was based on event logs generated after crashing.

" I tried Vulkan but that didn't work for me. |
