Crossbow skills with WASD issue

Hello,

When using WASD, unsure if its with the other control schemes. But when you're aiming at a close enemy with say Fragmentation Rounds, the shot just goes into the first enemy and then penetrates into the ground instead of firing and penetrating the next few enemies like the skill says its supposed to do.

In order to properly have the rounds go through the first enemy and carry on you actually need to have your mouse cursor pointing way past and at the edge of the screen. Is this intended?? Seems really weird.
