Atlas rework suggestion

Not sure if there is anything similar to this on the forum, so I'll just post my thoughts here.

As is right now the atlas gets really annoying the longer you play... mostly because you are forced to run useless maps, multiple towers to gain benefits, and the most fked thing when you get world blocked by seas/mountains and the like and you have to either run around them for 20+ maps (that ofc are not benefitting you at all) or simply abandon the area and go in a different direction, not to mention "dead zones" (great areas with lots of maps, but little to no towers or towers positioned in such a way that you're forced to pretty much ruin perfect maps to reach them or the opposite, lots of towers and little to no maps)

I'd like to propose a similar approach to what we have now, but with changes to make the whole process nicer for the player and reduce wasted time:

1. The map could be split into regions (sectors) instead of having random map spots on a globe along random tower spots.

2. Each region could have just 1 tower that needs to be cleared first to gain view into the fog of war of the region (access to all the maps inside said region).

3. The precursor tablets could influence all the maps inside the region and the region tower could sustain more than 1 tablet at a time to maximize map buffs for an area.

4. All the normal maps inside the region could operate the same as it is now, we insert the waystone and the map gains said buff & debuffs.

5. For the sake of not flying through the entire globe to find the rare dungeons, each region could need at least 3 maps cleared along with the initial tower to unlock the ability to traverse to a neighbouring region.

6. We would need to be able to zoom out of the normal map and access a "zone/sector" map to make navigation easier on a huge atlas and the region buffs could simply be displayed by hovering the mouse over one.

I believe these changes would improve overall quality of life.

If others have ideas that can improve the current system and/or the ideas I put here please comment!
