Warrior Feedback -
Good evening denizens of Wraeclast!
I would like to provide some feedback after two playthroughs of the game using each of the ascendences to lv 90 in T15+ Content. Overall impression of the class The warrior seems to suffer from the same symptoms the Marauder suffers in POE 1. It seems that developers want you to feel like a classic fighter and it achieves that in some ways. However, no other class feels so limited by design. It is strong when you take it where it is intended to go, otherwise feels just worse at anything else you might want to do compared to other classes. I cannot complain about the performance of my current build as it is very simple and works extremely well on a low budget. Creativity of the Passive tree Most of the Ascendancy notables feel uninspired in effect and certainly do not have radical impacts on playstyle like most other classes. Warbringer and Titan and interchangeable on almost every build. It's the only class that has serious mana problems until you can opt out of it with Blood Magic or reach the end game with comfortable leech numbers. I have played every other class and my mana is always above 50 at all times. It doesn't need to be such a problem. Why are Warcries so damn expensive to cast? The Passive tree has the same feeling. Want to hit hard? Here's some attack speed reduction. Want to be strong? Have even less mana. Once again, playing other classes, I have never seen so many penalties tacked onto passive nodes. Brute Strength is by far the worst attribute stacking notables and it comes with a penalty. Armour Warriors would benefit tremendously from notable that allows a portion of armour to be applied to elemental damage early on. Nothing dramatic, but enough to be able to survive. Possibly tie it to not having a shield for balance purposes. Without being able to get in the 85+ physical damage reduction realm before end game, armour is a rough defensive mechanic. Build regidity Giant's Blood is a huge problem right now. You would be silly not to use it as being able to slap a shield on a 2 hander build just gives you great survivability. It's a must for every build. Give Warrior more options for mitigation. There is very little flexibility in Warrior builds because there are so many mandatory Leveling One of the being factors that make warriors unappealing is that the skills that work well are acquired rather late in the leveling process. You can AoE clear well early on with Bone shatter, but once you hit a boss nothing really helps the single target damage. Even with top weapons for the content tier, the damage output is slow or clunky because skills like Earthquake and Shockwave Totem take too long to trigger even when gemmed accordingly. Fire skills don't interesting notables to support them. Currently none of the Ascendencies make them shine either. Many of the early skills have forced movement or cannot hit enemies that are close to the caster reliably for some reason. Looking at you Molten Blast. Slams should be able to benefit from the move while casting feature that every other skill type gets in the game. It significantly reduces clear speed and momentum to stop, slam and move again when everyone else gets fluid movement. I'll have more feedback down the road. Last bumped on Feb 22, 2025, 4:40:03 PM

I'd rather see every other class brought down to the Warrior's pace.
Warrior only feels bad because it's playing at PoE2's pace while other classes play like PoE1. We were promised a different game, so let's keep it that way instead of making another zoomfest epilepsy simulator |

" I dont think it's pace - there are a few things that make a character zoomie, right now temporalis being one - armor with negative cool down ie infinite shield charges, the defence on it wouldnt matter because warriors get one shot more than anyone else. But the pentalities from heavy armor and a shield are the most RIDICULOUS thing in the game ever - if you're strength based you should be ok to carry them... anyways warrior needs to be brought up a FK TON, buffed damage on shield skills, given mobility - stampede needs to properly clear, you can pop a screen on a 14/15 if you build it right but you go higher and you're needing to do multiple runs and drop hammers on rares vs every single other class "1 button clears on and off screen infitnite sparks etc" Warrior, if it's not buffed (including a big juicy molten blast one)I'll be gone til 2027 for release |
