Several Boss fight Feedback
I list some of them here with an explanation where i think bosses need improvement
- Lets start with Rathbreaker The bosses area is way to small. And the area gets limited even more by spears that are flying at you when you go close to the wall. Then the Boss also has only 2 Attacks one is trivial it does not do anything to you, but the other attack is literally a one shot if you dont roll behind the boss cause thats literally only way to evade that skill. You can also just run out of range, but the area is so limited that this is often not possible. - Then we have Blackjaw The boss has different issue that Rathbreaker and the issue got addressed a bit with a patch that fixed some hitboxes, its still a really bad boss to fight. You cant really predict what the boss wil do next, you have problems predicitng the area of effect of skills. He also chains one skill directly into another while your still evading first. Thats also a recurring issue with Viper Napuatzi. Otherwise the Skillset of the boss is way better than Rathbreaker. There is more diversity. - Going to Chimera The boss itself is fine, but also has an issue with predicting what will happens next or even what skill the boss will do. Then teh Boss has kind of an "event" where he jumps on a pillar and you have to destroy the pillar. First it would be better to know what pillar the boss is going to. Its just better for melee to be able to attack it fast. Range are not having an issue with that but Melee Characters will take longer to attack it. Then if you break the Pillar, then the boss will fall down, but only after their skill it is currently using is finished. The boss should fall down immediately and cancel the skill. I was baffled the first i saw that it. Its just a bad design. - Next is Lachlann I dont really understand this Boss. It has a skillset that is ridiculous. Insanely strong melee hits while slowing the player with skills that also deal damage that are sometimes impossible to evade, because they spawn under you and immediately slow you and damage you. This boss as many others also favours Ranged Characters. The bosses melee hits are ust way stronger than the ranged attacks. Range can simply stay outside melee range and have a way easier time. - Crowbell I do like the fight, but i have some design points here. Making a boss completely invincible 2 times for it to go into another phase is just dumb and lazy design. I can see making it one time, but also that is just lazy. - Rudja Cool Boss, but that one attack that is actually damn hard to evade being able to one hit you is just insane. - Silverfist Kinda boring, but its more of a rare to me than a Boss. Its randomly on one map. Could get soem extra skills too. Its attacking basically with 2 skills, one is a roll and the other a slam on the ground. - Zicuatl The wave needs some better telegraphing. I killed him a lot of times but still dont know where he does the waves and they do quiet a lot of damage. - Queen of Filth Another boring Boss. Is simply harder because it hits hard instead of clever mechanics. - Last on my List for acts is Viper Napuatzi Actually i lie the diversity in the fight. But two things are annoying. One is that Viper chains one skill very fast into another sometimes. And the flurry with the poison projectiles is also to long. I count that as two points because its one skill. The next annoying thing is the last attack of the soldiers, when all soldiers attack at once. The only counter to not get damaged is a roll you have to time. I would cut that thing completely. It does not feel good. Everything thats happening before is enough. Pinnacles: - The King of the Mist. The first Phase is okay i would say. The only issue there is that you have nom idea where he teleports. It could be telegraphed in what direction he teleprots with a black line in the direction during teleport. Labyrinth. I literally failed it because the light were in positions that were completely screwed up. The first one on my screen send me backwards into the opposite direction and that happened a total of 6 times with more lights. You go to one and it sent you back the way you came from. That happened once and it was confusing. That could get some- improvement. Otherwise the Labyrinth is pretty trivial and boring after 2 or 3 times. Then when you come out of the Labyrinth, the boss still has to transform. Why not make him transform while you are inside the labyrinth. He gets full Health and Energy shield anyway. The second Phase is also bad. Especially if you play Melee. The boss often stands inside the tornado, the Tornado is hiding the telegraphing of the of the boss. Its another Bossfight that heavily favours range builds. The visibility of the fight in general is just abyssmal. You have the Tornado, the Frogs, Groudn effects, the boss itself. There is to much going and you dont know where you get damaged and where not. - Arbiter Sorry but did you test this? You can literally die because you are not fast enough while running from one fire circle to another. While having 35% movement boots. We had a fight as agroup where this happened twice in a row. Second time one person didnt die because he was a stat stacker and fast enough with flurry. And Flurry is a really fast movement.
