As for game playing bots, they need no API whatsoever and rely on code injection into the game or screen monitoring (never used one but that’s how they worked for WoW, but times have changed since I last played that). The API would also allow sites like Poe ninja to list data like popular builds, skills, who is doing well etc.. I guess in some very small way RMTers could potentially use that to see how popular an item, skill etc is and price accordingly but they can do that just as well with the official trade website as well.
