Fast-tracking after initial campaign playthrough

Was this ever a thing in PoE1? I know the whole idea is that the campaign is just leveling fodder to get to endgame, but man I really wish it was optional. I really enjoyed the 1st playthrough, didn't mind revisiting it for my 2nd character, and now that i'm on my 3rd character I find my self just begrudgingly trying to skim through it to get it over with. (I'm sure this feeling is exacerbated by having to replay acts 1-3 twice.)

It's to the point that if they don't release another act with the economy reset/new league IDK if I even want to engage with it, and just keep grinding my current characters in what will become the "standard" league.

I used to be a die-hard Destiny/2 player with thousands of hours, and one of the best things they ever did was adding a campaign skip for your other characters once you played though it once. (yeah, it costs money, but I feel like the PoE community is sympathetic to dumping money into their game of choice lol). I hate replaying through story content after I've already done it just for the sake of slogging through it to get where I want to be. I'd love to try the other 3 characters I haven't played yet, but I just simply cannot be bothered to run the campaign again.

Maybe once we get to the point where its just grinding out acts 1-6 it wont feel as shitty, but finishing 3 and then getting dumped back into 1-cruel (lets be honest cruel is a joke because you just blast through it anyway) is just getting annoying. Maybe its just me.

I'd love to see an alternate path to skip the campaign on 2nd/3rd/4th/etc characters.
