Lost Access to My Steam Account After Microsoft Link – Need Help
Hello GGG Support,
Hope you're all doing well! I wanted to reach out here in the forums as well to see if anyone could provide insights or guidance regarding my situation. What Happened: Yesterday between 10 AM – 12 PM PST, I linked my Microsoft account to my Steam account (DrFrisco). Later that evening, when I launched Path of Exile 2, I noticed that: - All my characters, purchases, and my supporter pack were missing. - My account name had changed to my Microsoft account (Frisco) instead of my Steam account. Questions & Possible Solutions: Can Path of Exile 2 allow me to select which sub-account I’m playing on at the character select screen? - I saw in a forum post by alphOnze_x#7118 (Feb 21, 2025, 2:49:28 PM) that this was possible in Path of Exile 1—does this apply to PoE2 as well? Would unlinking my Microsoft account from Steam restore my original Steam account (DrFrisco)? - I read in another older forum post that this might be a solution. Can anyone confirm? What I’m Looking For: I’d really appreciate any guidance or next steps on how to recover my original Steam account and purchases. If there's anything I can do on my end to help expedite the process, I’m happy to assist in any way possible. I completely understand that the support team is super busy, and I truly appreciate the time and effort that goes into resolving issues like this. Lastly, I read into your forums of what to send in the support email to help with this scenario and say that the email has been sent as well. Just wanted to reach out here as well :) Thank you for your time, and I look forward to any insights you can provide! Kindest Regards, DrFrisco Last bumped on Feb 21, 2025, 10:55:23 AM

You should be able to select which subaccount you're playing while you're on the character select screen, both in Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2. I hope this helps!

Make a new character then log out to character select screen you should now see the sub-account drop down menu top right, just switch it and you should have your characters back
