Xyclucian, the chimera
Hello everyone,
I wanted to try to give some feedback from a new player prospective. Currently playing Titan, my game experience is limited to this EA. I never played POE1, or at least not to the extend the most of you did. I got to a point in the game that I have to fight this chimera. NGL I think this fight is absolutely atrocious for melee. I am not sure why the fight has been made the way how it is but, the feeling is the same as when I Was play D4 right at the start. With the Barb, and could not attack the spider boss due to the movement impeding. Maybe I am doing somethin wrong, not to sure. Open to suggestion/clarification Cheers Last bumped on Feb 20, 2025, 6:38:42 PM

When he lands on those overhangs you can destroy them and he will be stunned for 10 seconds. You can do this 3 times and kill him with melee no problem

One thing that generally killed me often was his ice attack. if you see him landed and about to do the ice attack get away as far as possible. this will save many deaths

I know what you mean.
Regardless of strategy for this boss in the campaign, this boss should be adjusted. As a melee it is quite frustrating because it has a huge AOE and you get hit even when you stand behind! It doesnt feel right since visually what is communicated is that the Chimera is spitting in front of it, so up to 180 degrees angle, but as you stand behind it, you get a massive degen. Another frustrating aspect of this boss is that the degens caused by the pools of ice and poison last really long. So as a melee you have to like get a couple swipes and then run away and then sometimes you just wait for the stupid degen pools to fade out, and when you move behind the chimera you have to watch your health but most of the time it just isnt safe and you have to run away. This boss is buggy as far as I'm concerned and not as fun as it should be. I think Chimera should have a quick swipe or two when you get close, but you should be able to roll behind while it is spitting and be safe from the elemental damage. |
