Steam Deck performance

I know GGG have a long list of far more important things to get to before the Steam Deck can be considered. But they did say they want the Deck to be playable and while the game is technically playable it is an awful experience.

Is there any hope for further improvements down the line (considering that this is still in early access) or is this basically it? I haven't seen anything from them regarding the Deck since the interview mentioning it last year.

It would be a great shame since I would love to play this on the go but the other handhelds on the market don't appeal to me at all. So I'll just forgo playing PoE2 on the Deck until maybe the Steam Deck 2 is released if that is the case.

Given that the Deck can run some pretty demanding games at around 30 FPS, it would have been great to just have a bare minimum stable experience without the game being a stuttery and blurry mess.

Per Jonathan himself:
Jonathan Rogers: Absolutely, we’ve made significant progress on getting Path of Exile 2 working on devices like the Steam Deck. We recently got our hands on a Steam Deck in the office, and the game runs smoothly at 40 frames per second.

I'm not sure what he considers "smooth" but with how the game currently runs I think our views on that might diverge a bit.

It would be nice if they could confirm if they are happy with where it is at or if there are more plans for the future.
