Caster weapons and foci item bases should have intrinsic bonus to spell level.
Just like every martial weapon has a base attack damage built into the weapon, every caster weapon should have an intrinsic bonus to <physical, fire, cold, lit, chaos> spell level built into a caster weapon.
Also, the chance to roll <various>+spell levels should have hybrids stats, just to make it more frequent. I have gone from lvl 55 at the start of act 4 to lvl 85 without acquiring a weapon upgrade from a +4 fire spell level staff with ~100 fire damage and ~100 spell damage. Infact, from 55 to 75 I didn't even find another weapon at all with more than +1 spell damage. It was so bad I swapped into to demon form (infernalist) just to get decent weapon stats for most of mapping. I just only recently was able to swap out to use the unique that provides +10% spell damage per spirit, so now I am spirit stacking with it. Because spirit stacking is easier to find upgrades for than actual straight up caster. I am still looking for a +4 or higher wand with cast speed and gain. In this way, unique weapons designed to be caster weapons might actually be useful at high level, instead of just leveling equipment. It feels absolutely terrible to go 30 levels with no incremental upgrades to caster weapons because of how rare the most important stat is, and inability to use caster uniques because it's straight up missing on most caster uniques Last bumped on Feb 17, 2025, 6:35:06 PM

I'd settle for them just making any of them actually decent with stats, but I see your point.
