MINIONS DON'T PULL AGGRO

The bulk of the Witch's playstyle is fun. I enjoy the "push a button, watch your minions do cool stuff" mechanic, and the spirit resource is balanced and effective.

But the minions don't pull aggro, and that makes her unplayable. Getting one-shot by a boss from off-screen or ganked and stun-locked by rando mobs... not fun. The minion meat shield is an essential part of minion-based play.

Also, something's wonky with contagion's targeting. I'll have the cursor over one mob, but contagion will land on a mob five yards behind and to the left. This makes the contagion/essence drain combo impossible, as contagion often lands on a mob in the middle of a group.

Not specific to the witch, but level design in general: gold mobs keep clustering. With the difficulty bump, one gold mob is usually a big enough deal on its own. Two or three at a time? Too much.

Lvl 94 witch. Summoner. Fully took all block nodes on the left side. 57 blockchance. Havent died since weeks. Its so much about defensive layers. If you die too often you are doing stuff wrong. Improve.
I have to agree. The fact that mini bosses charge through my mob of minions to kill me is really frustrating. It was especially bad when I got to maps and spawn into a map, take one step, and get jumped by mobs of mini bosses. I usually spend the first couple minutes of a map just rolling around waiting for my minions to get some kills so I can make some zombies and begin to make a safe area to stand and regroup before going farther into a map. The number of times I've died 30 seconds into a map is insane.
That's why I usually use a shield. That thing's a life-saver for minion witches.
I actually like it. It's one of the few things making this games minions playstyle funa nd engaging, instead of just leaning back and enjoying the show. I also think it is only logical for the enemies and especially bosses to do that. They know you are in control of them and they want to get rid of the summoner, instead of the summons, just like you as the player would do.
I'm pretty sure minions do pull aggro; however, they won't pull all aggro... I prefer this.

I'm not playing the "safe" infernal summoner that has 15k ES and 50% block. I have died a very healthy amount of the time due to aggro being on me instead of my minions; however, I've learned that when this happens, I stop spamming damage and focus on moving so I can avoid being an easy target.

I've slowly learned to always be moving and I may even be noticing that if I am pulling aggro its because either I am too close to the front line (maybe I want to be) or I am doing too much single target damage and need to spread it out more to give the minions time to build up their own aggro again.
Yup, there's some problem with aggro - even if I'm not actively doing anything other than rolling, rare/bossess will still target me instead of minions, which is a bit dumb... Minion play is all about being laid back and waiting for someone to do our bidding
