GODS walking among mere mobs
This is a post about some abilities being completely misplaced in the game in an off-the-charts kinda way. If you disagree with some of the abilities I'm about to mention, then try and imagine if they shouldn't belong on a boss or an Über, or how bad it would have been if us Exiles had access to it.
Hell I wanna have a water bubble too with 2sec wind-up insta kill, that also slows if caught, that can stalk Über bosses and if they were cought in it for 2 seconds they die regardless of health and regardless of defences, and then to top it off it reduces their chance of escape and lower their ability to retaliate, like what the white mob water hag does. A WHITE MOB can this?!?! how the heck isn't it at least an act boss already among their ranks?! Or the priests of the sun that once they engage have a permanent uptime laser beam with auto-aim that will keep hitting you even if you run off screen. Heck I wanna have tea, while enemies from a distance are crying in despair, because I had COMPLETE damage and status immunity unless they were in hugging distance and no visual indicator to suggest I'm out of the ordinary. If you don't think that sounds so bad, let me introduce you to the rare mob I met yesterday. Rare mob that could only be damaged while in close range with detonate dead and revives minions, and I think it even was the shade type that hides constantly with invulnerability while invisible. It was a freaking mine field, killing the minions was difficult enough, getting near the rare mob itself was harder than trials of the sekhemas. How many bosses can you think of with more hardcore mechanics than that? Proximity with stalking chaos orbs from vines doesn't feel much better. I wanna have complete status and damage immunity for the first 2 secs of all individual encounter, so I can stretch or grab a drink before giving an interest in my enemies, like the vaal constructs or similar mobs (there actually quite a few types). If a horde of these activate in a sequence you're bound to get hit because they stay in invulnerability and you can only take them out at once, once you've waited for the last mob to finish yawning or spam some ability to a degree that will cause performance issue for you and/or the server. There are bosses with less intro than all these white mobs. The skill to have complete damage immunity every couple seconds isn't much better. I also wanna have an entire map's worth of minions that not only detonate on death, but then also change the whole freaking area to a high damage zone, preventing enemies from going anywhere unless they wanna melt. All from default without buffs or additional modifiers. Yeah, I'm looking at you blood mobs and fungus mobs. These are just the ones from the top of my head, if I actually wrote stuff down, the list would probably be a lot longer. Yep I go a week without dying then die seven times in a day due to the above.
Although I don't really have an issue with the river hags anymore. They are pretty obvious. Pretty annoying for melee but everyone else should be able to dodge their water. The priest of the sun thing needs fixing ASAP. Not sure how I feel about rare monsters with impossible mods but it was part of POE1 and I guess can be the same... but they could use a bit of modification to make things like mana burn and tangible proximity not as severe. Because basically you have a game where the enemies present the difficulty of a thin paper box, until one destroys you instantly or seems immune to damage.
