Dear GGG Dev Team, With Path of Exile 2 evolving in complexity, it's time to rethink loot mechanics to improve quality-of-life while preserving the game’s core philosophy. I propose an Auto-Loot Pet/System, which functions as a dedicated loot assistant, tailored similarly to the loot filter, but applied to automatic item collection. Concept Overview A Summoned Loot Pet or Auto-Loot Tool that: Follows the Player but does not engage in combat. Picks Up Only What It’s Configured To based on a customizable Loot Filter for Pets/Tools. Deposits Loot Directly into the Stash instead of the player’s inventory. Can be summoned/dismissed as needed, similar to a cosmetic pet. Customization & Functionality Loot Filtering Integration: Uses the same system as existing loot filters but applied to the pet/tool. Players can set it to loot currency, maps, rares, uniques, crafting materials, etc. Option to exclude certain item bases (e.g., no normal items unless specifically selected). Inventory Management Efficiency: Prevents unnecessary inventory clutter during extended mapping or boss runs. Auto-sorts picked-up items into designated stash tabs if applicable. Could have a toggle to send loot to the player's inventory instead of stash. Fair Balancing & Monetization This feature should not remove the need for player decision-making—only automate the collection of pre-filtered loot. Could be sold as a premium feature in supporter packs or MTX bundles (e.g., $69.99). Different skins or variants (e.g., mechanical golems, spectral spirits, automaton drones) could serve as monetizable options. Developer Justification Maintains the integrity of loot filtering: The system does not introduce auto-looting of everything, only pre-selected loot based on the player's preferences. Reduces loot fatigue: Players spend more time playing and engaging with content rather than clicking on endless items. Encourages strategic loot filtering: If used incorrectly, the player could still miss out on valuable loot—preserving the need for an intelligent loot strategy. Enhances endgame flow: Mapping, Delving, and boss farming become smoother, reducing unnecessary downtime. Closing Thoughts This feature would be an incredible QoL improvement for all players, from casuals to high-end grinders. It ensures that loot collection remains engaging but not tedious while providing new monetization opportunities for the game.
