One Death per Map makes me play other games
One death per map kills my will to play. Its such a massive waste of time and effort.
Did a juiced citadel, died to white mobs with stun (Should have been easy). Got stunned at the first pack, charm went off. Stunned at second pack, charm went off. Listening to the tink, tink, tink, tink, tink, tink noise while I cant cast as the stun interrupts my casting (even with 0.4s or less). Cant dodge, again the whole stun lock thing, cant weapon swap to blink again due to the whole stun thing not allowing me to weapon swap. Great Design! Spent an hour pathing over there Did all the towers, rolled tablets Cleared the shitty maps (vaal factory i hate you) Rolled maps for good mods or a T16 To die to a white mob after getting chain stun locked and waste over 2 hours of pathing and setup Campaign is great, bosses are great. End game and mob balance is terrible. This needs to be addressed. At this point I am logging in less and less, the fun is not there. A single death shouldn't waste several hours of play time and then having to do the divine drop math to see how long it will take to get my next upgrade of 10-30divs knowing 1 death puts me hours behind is also not fun. +1 have an issue with citadels having only one portal, same for Simulacrum.
Game difficulty is either too easy or off the charts. |

you cant just rely on a charm for stun protection. My guess would be you play with CI and have no stun threshold gear/nodes.
I cant really remember getting stunned in maps , to get stunned that often you either have low HP or you have low defenses leading ot bigger hits which lead to more stuns |

+1 I can't agree more. It seems, GGG deliberately tries to limit their player base without realising that this will also limit their revenue. Just let everybody play the game in their own way. If someone likes thes 1-portal maps, let them have it, but let me also return after dying. It worked really well with the pinnacle bosses, so why not in the normal maps?

I actually like a lot of games that go the roguelite route. But it's just not working in PoE for me. The game needs an exceptional amount of polish before I'd consider it to be a fair mechanic. And given the nature of PoE, that doesn't seem likely. There's too much to balance, too many different factors that play into a death happening.
Roguelites are also games that tend to be quite short. 1-2 hours per try, vs this game that requires you to grind and grind some more. I think that's why most people are getting upset with it. Not too sure what can be done about it though. But the time requirement for the game is just too high for most people. I guarantee a lot of casual players would play this, if not for that aspect. I think one thing they could do. Is just add in a casual game mode. One where the drop rates are much higher, much higher chance of getting good gear dropping too. Without things like xp loss on death, or the requirements to trade. It would probably bring a lot of casual players in that just don't see the appeal of these systems. I never did. I just like playing the game. But I always quit when I hit about level 85 or so in PoE 1 because I was forced to interact with a lot of the stuff that made the game unfun for me.
