i am sick of cheap tricks
i am so f ing sick of cheap tricks in this game. the game is eyes glazingly easy 99.9% of the time then enemies pull out some shit that kills you instantly. while that's annoying enough, the trials are insanelyyyyyyyy annoying. the dijin trial takes like 1 f ing hour or something. god knows how long but it feels like 1 hr. then at the end if you make it, you get to the time boss and it's just a pure trick AGAIN. A f ing GAIN after wasting 1 f ing hour to get there. he does some weird shit and insta kills you. am i suppose to read guides before getting there? reading guides is not a fun game. i mean if he does a lot of damage that's one thing but who the f is supposed to know how that time arrow shit works? so now i just wasted 1 hour doing the most boring shit because i gotta be careful. oh i gotta be sooooooo careful otherwise i lose too much honor over like f ing 40 super boring trials. this is the worst game design ever and seriously makes me want to rage quit. i f ing finally get to the last boss with full honor bar, over 3000. i'm thinking there's no way i'll lose this and i'll finally be finish this annoying piece of shit but noooooo. fucking doing stupid shit like hourglass and dont even dare to blink least i lose honor.

Show your character sheet. Like where resistances are.

" that has nothing to do with this. i can blaze through trials, i just have to be careful. why should i have to waste 1hr to see a cheap trick? even after watching youtube guides, apparently you need enough move speed and or a movement ability to even collect the time orbs. i'm not even gonna waste my time. i'm not spending another hour just to try it. the design is dumb as f. labyrinth in poe1 was actually fun. then the boss hits hard as f but you know what would happen. this dijin trials shit is so annoying and there's 40 of it before you get to try to see if you can overcome a cheap trick. btw i have max resist for all and 55 for chaos. i wouldnt care about insta kills in maps if it wasnt just one chance. that ruins the game because you can't use this game to unwind. you gotta be careful but 99.99999% of the time it doesn't matter so you got this false assurance going. it's uncomfortable. there are a lot of adults who play this who dont want to be all sweaty and shit. it was supposed to be a nice unwind game where you just hack and slash them and get dopamine from drops. now you hack them 99.999% of the time then opps, you're dead and the map is over. poe2 design choices are f ed. frame rates tied to ping, one chance on maps, this trials shit. the only good thing they did was have controller support on pc. that's literally it. probably due to their arrogance and pride, they'll never reverse these design choices. lastly, since i'm on a roll here, reduce visual effects in full partys. what i mean is, it's so fun to run maps in parties but the effects fill up the screen and you can't even tell wtf is happening. it'll get even worse once they ramp up the mtx effects. so the only usable builds are f'ers that release a f ton of shit and they can't tell what they're doing too, it's just that they do damage without focusing anything. how's that suppose to be fun? I can't relate to "cheap tricks" at all.
Last time for me was an insta-gib from a multi-projectile essence mob, but that was back in december (and I beliece GGG has already added an attack-delay after releasing them). All deaths after that could be fixed by me playing better. If you're one-shot it's probably one of: - Lacking defensives - Running maps with too many damage mods - Failing to understand the dodgeroll mechanic PoE2 has infinitely less bs than PoE1. lol trials is designed to waste peoples time. That is why they locked ascendancy points behind it. They fully understand that people are going to attempt trials and fail and have to re-run it (multiple times) and waste a lot of hours of their life for a reward which should have been given arguably for free. Ascendency points are core component of the class to function optimally and should never have been put behind a game mode such as Trials.

When it comes down to it. This is literally what players will inevitably expect.

While trials are irrirating I agree, its mostly because you have an artificial health bar that you cannot recoup, and chaos trials are... anxiety inducing to say the least.
the only true one shots I've had are. 1, a rare poison mob shotgunning me with spit on a multiple projectile map and 2, being frozen on a flame pit while a delirium boss flicker strike'd me (I think it was flicker, he literally teleported to me and did damage simultaneously. lol) Every other death besides that is either: Getting chain cc'd Chaos damage with no chaos res Physical damage 1kho moves (Gorilla slam, Sword bird jump) My friends mostly die to normal abilities and cry out in confusion, but they refuse to max their resists. So they fall over while i roll away to safety. Idk what to say, PoE2 seems to have ALOT less cheap tricks than PoE1. My main funny when I was nearing endgame was: Man, i sure hope they fixed archers shooting me from off-screen for 20% of my health. Which they actually fixed in the last patch, so im coolin. |

Yeah, it's garbage. Solely for the fact of having a runback time of up to one hour to the boss. Then add insult to injury you can't even enjoy the novel experience of playing and learning the boss for the first time because not looking up boss guides prior is just a guarantee to get one-shot by some bs.
You are quite literally punished with an hour of time wasted and loss of a token to enter the trial for simply trying to learn the boss and playing the game as intended. And this is everywhere in the game, not only the Trial of Sekhema. It's the same in the Chaos trials. It's the same with Arbiter and King of the Mists. You are just dumb if you don't spoil the fights for yourself looking up guides because the consequence will be hours or even days of "runbacks" to the boss in the form of refarming fragments and audiences. It's really hard to understand the guiding game design principle here. The game is uber-grindy as is, why punish the player with resetting him to a state of past progress and even more grind for a lack of knowledge? That's just grossly anti-player and anti-fun. |
