Arbiter of Ash might be the worst designed boss in Arpg history
After multiple attempts and finally reaching max tier I can confidently say: Idk what GGG was thinking designing this boss. This is not difficult, this is just straight up unfair.
The one-shot with the circles has spawned for me multiple times were the next spot was not reachable with 25% ms, where Arbiter landed infront of me bodyblocking me from reaching the next spot, or casting the ability that shoots out small fireballs in a circular fashion right on top of the next spot (giving you the opportunity to decide what should kill you). The other one-shot, the firestorm, has such poor visibilty and indication that as a non-colorblind person I can confidently say that I have not managed to evade the whole chain a single time. And even if you manage to see it, it casts so fast that half the time even with 25% ms you can't reach it. Hey, maybe some people can consistently evade these. I cannot. Especially lovely when he chains the two one-shots abilites back to back. Hard to fathom how they came to the conclusion: yep, let's put this out there as the pinnacle of our boss design. Let players farm citadelles for a 100+ hours without any indication where those are and then give them a single attempt at a boss they have never seen and that will basically insta one-shot them upon entering the fight. Anyway, I was lucky enough to relatively quickly figure out how to beat him (and I assume how GGG intented to fight him): Don't engage with his mechanics at all. Just nuke him to the moon in 3 seconds. One-shot or be one-shot. 10/10 game design. Would one-shot again. Last bumped on Feb 14, 2025, 8:48:31 PM

I had the same experience with the circles being unreachable. Died 3 times still had 2 portals and just logged off instead.

Give them 6 tries. Still not happy. Demand more.

" It's not about the tries man. I've beaten him on all tiers. It's about fundamentally bad boss design. 6 tries for a bad boss is still a bad boss. Compare Xesht or King of the Mists. They are really well designed. No cheap one shots. Well telegraphed attacks. Interesting game mechanics with lots of ways to play around them. |

" Did you even bother to read the post or my comment below it? |
