Phrecia Feedback: About blocker idols (like black thumb)
Blocker nodes being unique idols and taking at least 1x1 spot is bad if it is just single line of mod on it. This is not a raging/crying post, just genuine feedback.
I know it's a bit too early for this as we haven't seen what these unique idols will be and how much power level could an optimized board have. These is just a concern that I have when I was reading the FAQ. I could be over-worrying. But as someone who blocks at MINIMUM 4 content (ultimatum, blight, heist, harvest) it's going to feel awful. We only have 32 slots at max, and if each of these unique idols are taking 1x1 spot then I would need at least 4 unique idols just for blockers alone. That's already 4/32 or 1/8 of total slots being dedicated for blockers only. Suggested solution: 1. Watcher's eye route: Rolls up to 4 different blockers on 1 unique. Give it some small generic bonus like map sustain or packsize. Make it common enough that your preferred combo could easily be searched on trade and be cheap. Limited to 2. (Sorry SSF folks, this solution is going to suck for y'all. ) 2. Block only one content but give it other generic stats. For example, block harvest, but also have substantial generic bonuses. Like 10-20% pack size/scarab drop/map sustain / or even increased effect of other idols etc. 3. Appears as regular modifier on rare/magic idols but an additional bonus like "x increased effect of modifiers on this idol" 4. Introduce a new currency that can add/reroll these mods as an implicit and will replace the standard map sustain implicit that they have just added. Idols can only be modified by this currency. Bonus: This concerns somewhat applies to keystone idols too. It should also grant random content related bonus as well. For example, crop rotation should also provide some generic harvest bonus like spawn chance or life force duplication/harvest packsize etc. Last bumped on Feb 11, 2025, 4:20:41 AM
