is the use of nvidia profile inspector bannable?
the answer will determine how annoying my use of it will be.
so i'm trying to use the latest dlss files in games that the nvidia app doesn't let me override, i have set the overides in profile inspector on a game by game basis but problem is with the nvidia app installed the settings don't stick so i uninstalled it in favor of the profile inspector but i wish to use the globle override to save me time as i have many games and it would affect POE2 as well, i know the nvidia app lets me override the dlss for this game already but i cant do it with the app uninstalled. if i have to do each game manually to avoid being banned i will but its time consuming. please understand that i have only been pc gaming for a year and i'm still learning things as i go so any advice/help would be appreciated. I can’t speak for them officially but I’d wager good money you’re fine. In fact I would go so far as to say you’re likely encouraged to use it. Just be aware of it as a troubleshooting point. If you encounter performance issues at one setting but not others, or with it disabled but not with it enabled, etc etc, that’s useful information for support. So don’t be one of those helpless folks who has stuff enabled modifying the game state and asks support for help all the time when it causes issues as if you’re running it as intended. But assuming you are ok with taking responsibility for solving your own issues and especially if you’re able and willing to provide any troubleshooting data you get as you fix your problems to support, you should be good.

thank you for the response i only plan to use the profile inspector in order to use the latest version of dlss as im not comfortable messing with any other settings.

Well just remember again, zero support tickets put in on a game in anything other than 100% vanilla state is the expectation. Do *not* seek out help or support if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, at a bare minimum you’re responsible for removing profile inspector from the equation if you’re getting crashes or issues and getting to a 100% vanilla state before seeking the assistance of others. Fair?

Driver level modification (from the NVIDIA App) doesn't change game files (the game doesn't know)
You 'shouldn't' get in trouble for replacing the dlss files but you are risking it with any online only game GGG will warn against it just like every company that uses DLSS I have never seen or heard of someone getting in trouble from replacing the dlss dll |

I do know how to undo the settings in the profile inspector That was the first thing I looked up before I did anything as for the dlss dll I haven’t replaced it in the games folder I just changed the override and profile letter to use the latest in the profile inspector, there was a thing on nexus that lets you see what version of dlss is being used and it shows the latest for this game and space marine 2 even though I haven’t touched the dlss dll.

Won't make any difference. Poe2 does not have frame generation nor ray tracing to improve overall FPS. Basicly using DLSS option in the game just reduces graphics hiddenly %33 to %66.
Nvidia confirmed Poe2 does not have DLSS frame generation in their game. So switching DLSS versions won't help you neither. |

" DLSS DLAA improves image quality over native TAA but does have a cost. DLSS (Q, B, P, UP) provides a performance improvement if you are GPU bound. Having ray tracing doesn't matter, only that you are GPU bound. A performance increase is a performance increase. Using the NVIDIA App to force PoE2 to use the latest DLSS model (DLSS4) improves DLSS picture quality significantly in some cases. Since Frame Generation isn't supported in this game there is no reason to bring it up. |
