Trying to make this Infernalist-Warrior hybrid build work. Suggestions?
![]() My basic thesis is: Infernalist gets the Hellhound which is a flat 20% damage reduction, on top of access to a 9% life boost which is unique to infernalist. Infernalist also gets Altered Flesh, which shifts 20% of Cold+Lightning damage to Fire and 20% of Physical taken as Chaos damage, add in Heatproofing which mitigates 25% of Fire damage based on your armour, and Unnatural Resilience which can overcap Fire resilience up to 90% when used with the Fire resilience unique belt and Prism Guard on the passive tree, and a fire resistance radius jewel. All this combos together to make a seriously tanky character which is what I want to play with friends on, and the Hellhound has a nice neat added bonus of helping to clear up straggler enemies and enemies that shoot from a distance that are otherwise annoying for a tanky warrior. Chober Chaben Leaden Greathammer unique means that I can put my attack passives on for my hellhound and reap the benefits myself as well and be a bit equalized. Can anyone help me further with this build? Not sure if the passive skill tree is efficient or could be done better. Open to any suggestions. Hey i will be just leveling my infernalist coz self dmg mechanism, and wanna make her similar to my first character, warbringer dmg based on empowered shield charge. Our passive trees are quite similar and he is quite tanky. U can Check my post and see results how the dmg and defences works. Dmg comes from high armour value on shield.

I think the build will really come online once we have access to raise spectre. I don't know what the spirit costs will be. I think 120 to activate the skill, then +20-50 or so based on whichever minion you create based on the enemy, at least this is what I can infer from the leaked footage. This means that in theory, you can at least obtain a solid trio of hellhound for damage mitigation, and AoE Ignite damage/fire damage, and a couple of minions that benefit both from fire%/ignite duration/magnification. So you end up with a minion that can theoretically gapclose and attack swiftly, your tanky hellhound, and one that can attack from range. This should in theory still give you the spirit to active things like Herald of ash, Time of Need and perhaps Scavenged Plating or whatever else to make the build feel truly tanky and with good recuperation. If Chober Chaben isn't a good use for damage, that actually gives more freedom so I'm fine with that. I'm curious about whether a broad hitting aoe weapon will be better than something that is more single target dps, while the minions chip away at everything else around me, to DoT ignites etc. That sounds fun. The question is how high can I push the single target DPS while maintaining maximum possible survivability and also, my personal preference, not having a 1 button spam build. The warrior skills are so fun to combo once you get a bit of skill speed and augmentations for flow. The animations cancel nicely and can flow from one into another perfectly. A rolling slam into a pack followed by throwing up a totem with font of healing that starts throwing out sunders towards the dense part of the pack, while I leap slam either to safety to make use of the consecrated ground heal, or into the heart of the pack to pop a warcry and then throw up another totem before using a few basic attacks to prime enemies for an uppercut to make herald of ash explosions... it's all very crunchy and satisfying and if I can make that feel like it's melting enemies in maps while being a moving fortress of a tank I will be very, very happy. Especially once they add spectres. Haha. Yeah I got a suggestion. Just don't. Turn on Elden Ring or Baldurs Gate 3 instead.

Aw don't be mean, a lot of fun in Path of Exiles in general is trying out weird different stuff. Chober Chaber is an interesting unique to build around and my thought was going Infernalist as well, just using all the +minion dmg the witch has access to and probably take MoM and EB, stack armor and ES. Infernalist also gets that extra spirit so you get more minions.

" Uh yeah okay buddy tell that to my first warrior that is nowhere near max theorycrafted but absolutely tanky beyond your wildest dreams already. I only just started PoE with PoE 2 and all 3 of my builds I made myself and can breeze through all content, Warrior, Witch and Monk respectively. I will continue to build fun builds if I feel like it :) |
