GGG Will treat Early Access as the current POE2 live release. The great reset is here.
This is what they want, to reset everything back to square one and sell it to a new crowd for another 10 years, they literally said it word for word.
This isn't Early Access, is a deliberate slow walk of the same roadmap we got for POE1 sold to us in a shiny skin. There isn't going to be some GIGA end game added to the game whats here is it, all the stuff from poe1 isn't coming other than skins that i am sure they regretfully promised back when the 2 games still shared an endgame. Its going to be content patches 4 times a year starting from the start of poe1 all over again. Pretty sure they got a rude shock when 400k people decided that base POE2 isn't enough like POE1 was 10 years ago and now they have to hastily promise more while stopping the release of POE1 content lest it eat up the rest of 2's momentum.. I think everybody knew this a year or two ago.

400k people were never playing POE 1. Literally ever. They can’t possibly have decided that POE 2 is not enough like POE 1 since they weren’t playing POE 1 in the first place.
I played POE 1 for a few hours, realized that there was no easy respeccing and with the passive tree system the way it is / was and no ability to respec you’re effectively forced to follow someone else’s build guide to have success. So I dropped it and never returned. I’ve played more POE 2 than I ever played POE 1, I will play plenty more beyond this too. I’ve already done 4 massive rebuilds of characters thanks to gold based respeccing. POE2 is already more successful than POE 1 ever was or ever will be. And it’s precisely because it’s *NOT* POE 1 that it’s had that success. |

What did you expect? All the content from their older successful title in the new release? Man, I hadn't even been following PoE2 development much before it came out, and I knew this wouldn't be the case because it would be impossible. People need to temper their expectations.

PoE1's roadmap surely was acceptable to you considering all your badges. Why, if this this the same roadmap, are you so unsatisfied now?

" They expected POE 2 to be a mistake and a failure. They’re bitter because POE 2 means the end of POE 1 which was a core part of their identity, and almost assuredly spent months before early access release complaining about its existence and predicting its failure. Now they’ll grasp at any straws they can find to justify that position. There is literally nothing POE 2 could ever do or achieve which would change their opinion. They’ll just keep delusionally claiming POE 2 is a disaster for GGG and they should go back to fully investing their development resources in POE 1 for as long as they’re posting on these forums. That’s my assessment and prediction at least. |

" Many still do citing "dropping numbers", as if that's not the normal way the cycle goes. I don't really understand that mindset tbh. If the new product failed, wouldn't it hurt the company more than rerouting resources to the successor (hopefully temporarily while they hire more staff)? Or is this a case for letting it all burn because things didn't turn out the way we wanted? Sure, some unpopular decisions were made. But I'd rather hope that PoE1 continues to live rather than PoE2 dies. The death of PoE2 would mean failure for GGG, and people are delusional if they think it'll be helpful to PoE1. |
