Retry attempts for Xesht

How many retry attempts do I get for Xesht at difficulty 1? I have barely made 300 splinters and I don't want to waste them because I'm not confident in my build. But I'm bored of all the grind and feeling aimless. I'm a level 90 invoker, but my gear is pretty substandard. Have 1 divine so can't really buy anything good either.

When you start doing breaches more often and get to 8/8 atlas points on the breach tree, you can get a full breachstone in an hour or less.

But if I fail my first attempt do still get any points in the breach tree?

You have five attempts. So, if you die you respawn to fight the boss again, but he regains full life.
Every added difficulty results in one less attempt, up to only one attempt for T4 boss.
First time I beat him easily. Second time I needed two attempt, third time I wasted already two breachstones and for now I don't want to farm again to retry, honestly.
