HC Deadeye NOOB Campaign Question

Now that we got that out of the way...

I just died on my LA Deadeye on Viper (Act 3 Normal level 46). I was heavily invested into evasion (76% base 85% with wind dancer active) Capped Fire, Cold, Lightning resist (0% Chaos which I think was my problem) but pretty low health and almost 0 energy shield. Viper smoked me, I shouldn't of ego checked her and just quit mid fight but I wanted to see it thru and paid the price. On my next playthrough I was going to change it up and go heavily into HP, ES and Resist for the first 3 acts with LA and Lightning Rod again. Just wondering if anyone has some good advice that helped them rock the campaign.

Questions:

Is running straight ES better than EV/ES for campaign?

LA/LR/Orb Storms/Herald of Lightning solid campaign build?

Recommendations on passive Tree priorities? I've searched Maxroll and Mobalytics guides, I'm not sure which one would be best to follow, I feel lost in the sauce at this point.
