Armor (still) Sucks

What is the point of having so many % armor nodes and increases that even if you spec into armor, it is still a trash defense stat?

Noob trap?

Armor is bad against big hits, but good against smaller hits. Get a bit of armor, like ~5k, then invest into more life, which will be better against big hits.
It's not bad per say, life is bad though. And since armour builds are also almost always life builds, well armour sucks by association.

But with the same amount of life, on HC i'll take armour every time vs evasion, plus normally you get less life. Evasion builds can spec into evasion+es relatively easy though.

Yeah how there's like 2 nodes that add any life in passive. Can't be helped if the nth 80+ ilvl gear drop, gamble, or currency slam can't even upgrade you past 70 Life after 200 hours in maps.

Armor sucks because there aren't enough reliable sources of Life to handle the big hits, physical or otherwise. I feel like I should be at 5k+ life by now for all the time I've invested trying to increase it.

Unless you're ssf, get yourself Morior with life/attributes. My titan sit at 6.5k life with ok gear + Morior.

Sooooooo... get an item prohibitively expensive to get stats I'd need to feel I could comfortably farm it on my own. Got it. I don't mean to be rude, but for real, not a fix lol

Unfortunately, about 90% of the game is a noob trap with the current balance state. GGG has stated that they know armour still needs more work though. I have a post covering the issues armour has that need to be looked at along with how to fix said issues, if anyone is interested:

Ideally, by the end of early access no foundational stat should be a "noob trap" anymore, but we will see.
