Game Pausing After Going to PlayStation Home

I went back to the PlayStation Home Screen for a short minute, then as I returned to the game it would continue to pause and un-pause. I can still hit the start button to pull up the general menu and hit the touchpad to get to my character, but there begins to be some lag as well when I go back to the encampment in clearfell. I tried restarting the game and it still does it.
