Loading Screen Crashes EXCESSIVE
Since the release of POE 2 EA. This has been occuring for me on BOTH games.
Loading screen crashes. Whether its loading the game, or loading a new zone. Happens probably every 20 minutes and requires me to attempt to open the game multiple times without even being able to load my character. In some cases it happens just loading the game. Ive tried multiple things from updating GPU drivers, updating my BIOS, updating windows. Ive even attempted multiple settings within the client from adjusting vulkan to dx12 and dx11, lowering graphics settings, disabling vsync, filtering and buffering. I play on a pretty high resolution (5120x1440) in Fullscreen windowed. Nvidia Geforce 4090 i9 14900 64 GB of DDR5 RAM (6800 MT/s) 4TB NVME I have no imagery to show whats going on as its literally just game crashes with no error indicated. Please let me know if I can provide any further data. Additional Edit: I know a lot of people are having issues with multithreading that forces them to restart their pc for similar issues. I personally do not get a PC lockup which requires me to restart. I just have consistent crashing of the client itself. I have this exact same issue. I have a Intel pc, Nvidia 4070-ti super GPU, with 32 GB of ram. I only play on 1920x1080. I have also tried just about everything and the crashes are pretty much making the game unplayable. It just goes to desktop on repeat. Oh and by the way if it crashes in trial of chaos like this then you have to start the run over :).
This needs to get fixed it literally makes it an unplayable experience. |

I have nearly the same PC specs as OP and I've been running into the same issues the entire time. Crash to desktop on startup/loading screen pretty often.

When I use event viewer to find the error logs, here's what I get:

Same issue but only in PoE 1. Crashing like crazy every few minutes.

These are the ONLY things that have basically eliminated my crashing issues (4090 I9-14th gen).
Go to: Edit Plan Settings Under advanced power settings, click processor power management, then click maximum processor state and set it to 99%. Good time to double check that your minimum is like 5% or something. Use POE2 Uncrasher. With Intel's overclocking tool (Intel Extreme Tuning Utility), I set my Performance Core Ratio to 50/51x from 58x. Slowing down my own cores is the only thing that's lead to a minimal performance boost and near zero crashes. The other two changes are for increased stability, I did a whole act 3 run in 2:49 without a single crash I'm pretty sure. Last edited by Angormus#4067 on Feb 7, 2025, 5:30:11 AM

In my case isn't a crash, it's a full system freeze. Sometimes I can move the mouse, sometimes I cannot. But I always have to power down manually.

Does everyone here with PoE1 crashing issues also have PoE2 installed?
Personally, yes. |
