LA Deadeye - Widowhail is doing more DPS than a 220 divine bow with 600 pDPS...

So when I built this character, I liquidated everything from my monk and bought a bunch of ranger gear with it. I had a pretty sick widowhail with an extra arrow, so I bought a decent quiver. After saving up enough money for a bow, I finally splurged and bought one for 220 divines. Only it makes my DPS go down....

My DPS with widowhail:

My DPS with the new bow:

The bow:

And here's my quiver:

I kinda feel like I just blew 220 divines for nothing and I don't think anyone will buy that bow from me. Kinda devastated. Just wanted to... rant.

It's not like PoB would have told you that.
Same with Pillar, not even a perfect mirror is coming close to a Howa Stat Stacker Pillar.

A +2 arrow crit, crit bonus would have been an upgrade in terms of clear speed
I assume you're running HOWA and Falcon Technique? I am curious as to the detailed calculations if you display them, but after really breaking it down it makes sense to me:

Widowhail
+32-53 physical damage (Bow and quiver)
+47-60 Cold damage
+137% increased damage with bow skills
+5 to the level of bow skills
33% increased attack speed
+78 Dexterity (6% increased attack speed from Falcon Technique, we'll assume 9% increased attack speed from HoWA for 15% increased attack speed overall)

Rune Wing
+46-87 physical damage (base)
+31-47 physical damage (mod)
276% increased physical damage
+174 Accuracy Rating
+29% Crit Damage Bonus
19% increased attack speed
Gain 43 mana per enemy killed

So the biggest things are the increased attack speed, which is basically 29% increased attack speed above the Widowhail, and more importantly the increased damage with bow skills instead of increased physical damage.

So the 1-10 lightning damage per 10 Int gets increased by the increased damage with bow skills, while the increased physical damage doesn't touch it. Depending on your Int that may exceed the damage from the bow itself; at 200 Int that's 20-200 Lightning Damage or 110 average damage while the Rune Wing is 77-134 average damage or 105 average damage.

The issue is the 276% increased physical damage is shown on the bow numbers themselves so you see a warped number there; I'm not sure why it's 316-541 as I'd expect to see 289-503 so I'm missing something there but the point remains either way. Even though it's half the increased amount, it's applying to the entire damage base while the physical is only applying to half. And that's before looking at the attack speed and the bonus to skill levels.

Now, all this being said, the dualstring may still be better, just saying. The DPS is per projectile, so depending on the number of projectiles base it may be way higher actual DPS. But per projectile, yeah, that tracks.

Yes, HOWA and falcon technique.

302 dex, 220 int

Well... they both have the same number of arrows :P

I had my build set up in POB2 and was plugging every bow I saw on the market into my build to see if it was an upgrade. I was looking for a bow that had mana on kill. When I saw this one, I jumped on it. It should have been a 10% upgrade on paper according to POB2. That said... I'm going to assume this is an error in how I have it set up. Probably have something in the calcs or config wrong. It's a complicated program and the skill gem thing isn't exactly intuitive.

I didn't want to blindly spend that much on a bow. Still screwed it up.
Hi, I was curious if you ever got this sorted out?

I am also in the same boat and I am thinking about treating myself and spending my entire divine savings on a nice dual string. 200 divine ish. Now I am curious if I should just go for a widowhail 250% and extra arrow setup.

Thanks
