Path of Exile engine performance
I've noticed that when I started playing (act 1) I was on 190 FPS, and now while mapping it drops to 50 or lower.
There are CLEAR performance issues and GGG needs to realize that yes, adding effects is cool. But it is not very playable with 10 FPS. Another thing I noticed is that the FPS counter is off by 99% in certain cases. Try casting fireball with wildshard and I have 1-2FPS while the counter tells me 120 FPS. These are issues that should not be in a released game, the game design is great, but the engine cannot keep up. I think at this point this has been pretty well discussed. Aside from various Voodoo magic (/clear, etc.) which seems to do nothing, get a top of the line PC or just wait until they fix some of the performance issues. I realize that isn't helpful in the least.
I too, never had a single issue during the campaign with FPS, crashes, or other issues. Certain endgame maps are FPS death/crash traps. I hope some of this can be fixed, I'm not a programmer, but it does seem the 'engine' w/e PoE2 is using, does have some serious scaling performance issues dependent on certain maps or conditions occurring. |

If it was discussed sufficiently, then why is it not on their list?

List your specs here, because my 3-4 year old pc (yes expensive at the time) can handle it at 3440x1440 very decently without the issues you are describing.
If your pc is not very close to the minimum specs then try to reinstall your drivers, if it is, sadly as someone else mentioned, either upgrade or wait and hope for some improvements. PS: You shouldn't post this on the bug report forum since it's not a proper bug or even a report. You did not mention your pc specs, you did not include any ticket report id etc. Last edited by Nightbird0#1208 on Feb 1, 2025, 2:50:19 AM

I would post all my specs (as well as all the videos of bugs) if I knew GGG would work on this.
In short: 64gig ram, 4.5ghz 32cpu with a GeForce 4080. The issue is that GGG is having a 'milking attitude', where they don't adres problems. Evidence would be the forum posts around: - People purchase things, it doesn't work - People don't get refunds - Instant kill bugs (these have been slowly getting adressed) - Engine issues - Crashes - Saw footage of consoles, it's literally unbearable... If GGG cared that much they would have started acting, and also tighten their processes. I know a lot of addicted fanboys may get mad, but the ladder thing is a joke. What kind of company would provide competitive ladder where the top guys all managed to profit off of a one hit kill mechanic on bosses, and the others couldn't due to a fix? If they were serious about things such as ladder they wouldn't rebalance in between and just focused on bug fixes and introduced the balancing the next 'season' or 'league'. Instead what you get is non-existent support. I've waited nearly 2 months on a response, the only thing GGG support suggested on getting client bugs resolved was "Please try repurchasing the game". This is the equivalent of you buying a new car and your radio breaks down after 1 day. Instead of fixing it they ghost you except for the one message going: "Please try purchasing yet another car and see if the issue persists there" PS: Crashes are related to performance, and if this is not a bug is it a feature? I did not see a sticky thread about how to post, and on most the threads GGG ignores you either way. Last edited by frettarix#0963 on Feb 1, 2025, 4:33:23 AM
