Missing Spirit from Act 1 Boss

I'm playing a warrior/titan class and received the 30 spirit from beating the act 1 boss. I assigned it to the herald of ash persistent buff and then eventually acquired the druid shield that adds 50 spirit. Upon equipping it, I also added the shield plating persistent buff. I as playing without issues and randomly had the error exclamation appear on my skills tab. When I reviewed it, it was showing that I didn't have enough spirit to run both skills. I reviewed all support gems, removed all support gems, and eventually unequipped the shield. In doing this, I noticed that my character sheet shows 0 spirit. If I reequip the shield it goes up to the 50 the shield provides. It appears as though the game has lost record of me obtaining the 30 from the boss fight in act 1.
