"An unexpected error has occurred " Endgame Maping

To start, I am on the Washington DC, USA server, i feel that is relevant because to me this sounds like a server issue.

Last night I was mapping, slowly making my way to my 3rd citadel and feeling confident because after dying to my previous two I've upgraded gear. I jumped into it (Stone) and was CRUSHING the map I feel I was roughly halfway through when all of a sudden, with no warning, no stuttering, no lagging, the game bounced me back to the pick your server login menu with an error box that said "An unexpected error has occurred." When I got back to my hideout, literally seconds later, I had no portals, and when I clicked on my atlas, my citadel read as failed; my XP is the same as when I entered (I gained roughly 2% but lost that BUT NOT MY OMEN that prevents 75% of xp loss on death) so no omen use = n death

This is about the 8th time I've lost a map this way in the last week. When hard error occurs I lose the wayystone I used to open the map (obviously) but then ANY items I've picked up in the map and any xp gained in the map.

I'm getting a little frustrated with these hard errors that make me lose a map, and not because of anything I did.

Update: It just happened to me again, same server, just a normal map. : ( Same error, same exact thing, map "attempted" lost items picked up in map, and xp gained in map but didn't die.
