XP penalty is a lazy effort at making the game "harder"

Have had maybe 1 or 2 deaths end game but died twice today half way to level 94 , 2nd time mid leap slam in vaal vactory to i dont even know what and that was it for me. Nearly threw up. Many questionable decisions make the end game miserable and far from a fun grind. Just make the enemies tougher and give us the freedom to fail. Hopefully enough people feel the same and its changed but i see the xp penalty as a sin.
