The Hope Of PoE1 3.26 being on time is rough - If Delayed.
As title says: No news is the worst part of the cycle we're in. Holding onto that hope that it will be released as planned in February because the GGG team hasn't communicated if any changes have needed to be made to the timeline.
A delay announcement today is actually better than waiting until February 6th to announce the delay. A lot of people are hoping that the silence means everything is on time. "After many days of internal discussions, we made the decision to not launch the 3.26 expansion for Path of Exile 1 this year. We’re looking to announce this new league in early 2025 (think late January) however we have to remain flexible with this window as releasing an entirely new project can come with challenges that we cannot predict." We've heard nothing to offer us that any changes to that timeline have occured. We have that statement above and a comment made by Jonathan in the ZiggyD video where he made an explicit statement that "Everyone will be going back to PoE1 for the February league". Whether it is on schedule or not, a statement should be made to either temper expectations or confirm previous statements. To put it simply it's the right thing to do. I think the devs are in a bind. POE2 isn't doing as well as they'd hoped, and they know a new POE1 season will kill what little momentum POE2 has left.
I'm not very hopeful that they will give POE1 the attention it deserves at this point. |

" Well the update was they haven't even worked on it. Easily the worst and most disrespectful thing they've ever done as a company. |

"i totally suspect sth like that and on this you cant blame them. gotta keep the new shiny thing in the spot light. i dont see how even an early march poe 1 league would be feasable. maybe april ? 1 month to create sth, then 2 weeks for announcement of the announcement ? and before poe 2 patch + bug fix etc |

" I don't have a lot of sympathy to be honest. If you've ever put a game together, let alone a sequel, you'd see their Tencent is showing. They tried to just make leagues take longer by forcing you to find a new base every time you try to craft on an item or map. Clicking a well. Clicking a dot to go to a loading screen to click the actual waypoint in act 2. HUGE backtracking all campaign and in maps. You have to look at the end result, especially in light of the flat-out dishonesty from Jonathan. Instead of adding some kind of ever-increasing difficulty content like unlimited simulacrum they just tried to make the game a slog. They didn't even deliver on melee or meaningful combat. POE2 is just POE1 with no crafting, walking slower, and backtracking a lot. It went backwards to early POE1 when map sustain was nonexistent. They know all this. It wasn't by accident. |
