essence of the mind creature didn't spawn

hello,

i'm playing in the valley of the titans and i came across an "essence of the mind" frozen creature thing. i pressed the A button 3 times, but instead of spawning enemies to fight, it spawned a dead giant skeleton with no loot at all.

please fix.

note that i teleported back to the ardura caravan to type this message, and when i returned i briefly saw a few giant skeletons go through their death animation. again, no loot though, and i didn't attack any of them either.
